We've been going to Chef's Tables since they opened a few years back.
First, the decor; the restaurant is beautifuly decorated with hand crafted elements setting a lovely caribbean atmosphere. Objects made from driftwood, shells and items such as window shutters have been re-purposed with fresh paint and are used throughout. The table tops are also hand made and have both sand and tiny shells filling areas on the surface that have then been covered with a highly polished polyurathane like substance which seals it all in. Very creative!
The place is quite large and can handle large crowds and also has a large outdoor terrace for al fresco dining used in the high season, which is also quite nicely decorated.
As for the food, we have enjoyed many wonderful meals at Chef's Tables and these keep us coming back time and time again. Last visit we went twice - with only a day or two between trips and enjoyed completely different meals that were equally delicious. My favorites are the shrimp tempura appetizer and the shrimp teriyaki entree. Also very enjoyable are the beef caparccio and the surf and turf. The desserts here are quite nice. It is a selection of about 10 tapas-sized servings and you can order whatever number a person wants. We usually order 3-4 apiece as they are each different and are a manageable size and just right to cap off a meal. The service is just lovely and is always professional and friendly.
The restaurant is not far from the low rise and high rise areas but does require a short taxi or car ride to get there. Highly recommended to get away from the hotel areas and experience more of Aruba. The payoff is a great dining experience.
