This place was chosen because my other half and his charter companions had caught some fish earlier in the day on their chartered fishing trip. So their catch (tuna) was prepared here. We elected to have it as an appetizer since it wasn't enough for our group of 10. They had prepared it both blackend and grilled. My favorite was the blackened. Wow! Very good. I had the catch of the day which was Mahi Mahi and I chose to have it blackened as well. I can't name off what everyone else got but everyone enjoyed their food here as well. It was a good time and the place was decorated nicely. It was a bit hard to find! Let's just say we got to have a scenic ride of the aruban neighborhoods before running into the place accidently. Some of the locals tend not to give very good directions (which I already knew before hand for posts on TA). All is good though, we found it eventually. :)

We went to Driftwood on recommendation of our timeshare presenter. Not only was the atmosphere cool, the food was awesome as well. My husband had Mahi Mahi and shrimp, and I had Mahi Mahi, both prepared "Aruban Style", which is pan fried and served with creole sauce. It was delicious! We treated ourselves to chocolate cake for dessert, which was traditionally European, not too sweet. A great meal and I would recommend this place for a nice evening out!

Located right downtown Oranjestad, just blocks away from the Renaissance hotel this is a great place for a meal.Reservations accepted. The ambiance resembles the inside of an old wooden sail boat with the walls covered of small pieces of driftwood, which the place is named for. We were promptly seated in a comfortable booth. In seconds water filled our glasses and menu were in hands.

We both chose the 3-course menu for US$ 24,99, which allowed to choose from 6 options of starters, 4 of main courses and 6 of desserts. We both had Caesar salad to start up, as main (six large and fresh) jumbo shrimp in different ways for both (my one blackened in a Caribbean sauce) and to wrap it all up a chocolate cake and a banana pie. Lovely, delicious, rich meal. To escort the food, water and two glasses of Chardonnay.

Service is friendly and warm. Total including service and taxes US$ 70. Pretty reasonable.

We went expecting good seafood and we were not disappointed. The catch of the day (of which there were three specials during our visit) was wonderful. You don't get fresher than this.

Good food and very clean. Even-though it is downtown it is a little hard to find. Get good directions before you set out.
