Description: Newly located in the Renaissance Marketplace downtown, Cuba's Cookin' has moved with the times just as when Fidel began his march on Havana in 1959. This is what Havana would have looked & felt like.... and when the live music starts up nightly....this is exactly what you would have heard & seen back then. A moment in history brought out in Cuba's food, mojitos, art, culture and dance. A real authentic dinning experience you will take home forever from your trip to Aruba.

“great, different, authentic”
Reviewed February 26, 2009

This little place, run by a guy from Montreal, has really awesome food, and a very cool opium-den type atmosphere (comfy couches next to some of the tables, several little rooms, live Latin music). It's great for family dinners and, probably, night time clubbing. I ate the best fish here of anyplace in Aruba, which is saying something. The rice and beans and plantains were awesome. They even serve matzo ball soup. The service is a little slow, but if you get into that Latin mood, you won't mind. Try it!

“Fun night out...good food and entertainment”
Reviewed December 27, 2008

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at CC. Food, entertainment, atmosphere were all out of the ordinary, which is exactly what we were looking for. The live music and artwork on all the walls provided for a very lively atmosphere. Restaurant serves baskets of yucca chips and 3 dipping sauces when you first sit down, and we went through several baskets. Appetizers: Black Bean soup, ceviche and empanadas were all wonderful. The gazpacho was nothing like we are used to in the US. It is not a red tomato based soup, but a greenish tint instead. Not what we expected, and I guess we were a bit thrown off by it. Entrees: Chichen mufango was outstanding, as were the roast pork, skirt steak, and seafood platter. Fried plantains were also noteworthy. And yes, the tres leches (3 milks) dessert was as good as everyone said it would be.

“A really fun place with fantastic food”
Reviewed December 9, 2008

We really had a great time at Cuba's Cooking. We went on a night when they ahd live music (a really energetic engaging Latin lady--her name escapes me, but I got the impression whe was a regular. We actually ran into her at Nos Cunucu a few days later and she was just as friendly and engaging then--so it isn't just an act. She's terrific!!).

Anyway, the mojitos were flowing, the music was loud and energetic and the Ropa Vieja was FANTASTIC--probably the best I've ever had.

I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!!

“Fantastic Night Out”
Reviewed December 8, 2008

We choose Cuba's as the destination for our last night in Aruba as well as a birthday celebration. We wanted somewhere that was fun, had good food and didn't break the bank. We picked the right spot. We arrived early at 7:10 and it was a bit empty which was disconcerting. However, the live music starts at 7:30 and by 8:00 the place was packed. The musician was excellent and got the patrons involved in the fun, creating an energetic and fun atmosphere. We cashed in on the free mojito coupon you can find in one of the local maps for a round of drinks for everyone. The mojitos were top notch and we found the 2nd round to be even better. We ordered the snack platter to share for the table and that provided a nice taste of various items. The pastichios were excellent. We all had something different for dinner, coconut shrimp, braised beef, and the mixed plate. Everyone was very satisfied with their meal. We are by no means experts on Cuban food but everything tasted great. Dessert was Tres Leches cake which was excellent but not quite enough to share. They also offered many after dinner coffee drinks. All in all we had a great time and would highly recommend Cuba's Cookin'.

“Pleasant Surprise”
Reviewed November 8, 2008

Excellent food and portions, terrific service and great music. What else could you ask for. We really enjoyed this restaurant and it was one of our favorites during our stay in Aruba. Highly recommend the chicken with olives and the grouper…both are outstanding dishes. Also, you must have your free mojito..had a Mango Mojito and loved it. The only downside is that we didn’t save room for dessert!
