Owner description: Leave the cares of the world behind as you venture over to a private island complimentary to Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino guests. Renaissance Island features Aruba’s only private beaches and is just an 8-minute water taxi ride away. Here lies a true oasis with family-friendly beaches or beaches just for adults. Pamper yourself at the private Spa Cove, play a game of beachtennis, sit down to the delicious lunch specials at Papagayo Bar & Grill or have a drink at our newly added Mangrove Beach Bar, or just lie back and let the sun caress you. A day on Renaissance Island is a day well spent.

“Incredible Private Island”

Short boat ride from the hotel to the island. The island is beautiful and while we were there was not crowded at all. You could get chairs in any area you wanted at any time of the day.
There is a bar, a restaurant, and a small shop on the island.
Lots of iguanas and flamingos on the adult side.
Cannot say enough of how beautiful and relaxing this island is.

“Pink Flamingos!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2014

Loved being able to feed and take pictures with pink flamingos. The bar/ restaurant is on the family side, if you're on the adult side it's a walk for drinks, but there are waiters that will bring them to you. Beautiful beaches. great place to spend a day.

This is the the most beautiful location in Aruba. This is the most relaxing location in all of Aruba. This is a little bit of paradise in a private island setting. The ambiance of this setting is unparalleled.

“Paradise Found”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2014

This is the perfect place to spend the day while visiting Aruba. My wife said it is like being on Gilligan's Island. If you are going to Aruba, plan on spending the day here. My wife and I traveled to Aruba a few years ago and, while this was on the itinerary, we never made it to this site. I'm glad we had the chance to come back to Aruba so we could visit Renaissance Island. It is wonderful.

My family visited Renaissance Island during a recent cruise stop (July 18). For reference, my family consisted of: my wife and me (early 40s), our two boys (10 & 7), and my mom (late 60s). I have tried to answer a few questions people may have below (based on some other posts and questions I had before coming):

1. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the cruise terminal. When you enter the hotel, take the escalator up one floor and to the place where you would normally check-in to a hotel.
2. Cost: The cost is $99 per adult. This includes lunch and a cocktail of your choice. It also includes non-motorized water sports. Basically, this amounted to either a float or a kayak. We used both. You can check-out one, take it back, and then get the other.
3. Lunch: The food here is excellent. My mom and wife had the grouper sandwich and it was very tasty. They have the usual kid's food (pizza, hamburger, hot dog, etc.).
4. Water: The water is clear and refreshing. There is a nice floating dock that you can get on in the middle of the swimming area. For people with younger kids, you can't beat this place because you don't really have to watch your kids. The depth ranges from ankle deep to about 4-1/2 feet. So, if you are the type to let your kids swim freely at your neighborhood swimming pool, you will feel free letting them have the run of the place here, as well.
5. Boat Ride: The boat ride is less than 10 minutes and it runs every 15 minutes.
6. Jet Noise: Yes, you can hear the jet engines every now and then. But, it's not like a plane is landing every 2-3 minutes. This isn't LaGuardia.
7. Shade: It is somewhat limited. Make sure to bring a hat, keep applying the 35 block, and you'll be fine.
