the beach is not as well taken care of as other beaches (unless it's part of the resort on either side of the beach). It still offers spectacular views of the harbour and Fort.

Easy to get to, water is lovely. Park along the side of the road with easy access to get on the beach. Pack a lunch...don't bother with Roxy's. Had a drink, ordered lunch, waited one hour and never got our food.

Galleon Beach is a broad crescent of powdery sand, great for walking or sunbathing. At the far end of the beach is the rocky trail up to the ruins of Fort Charlotte, with great views of English Harbour. We enjoyed all of that, but for us the best part was the snorkeling, just past the rocks at the far end of the beach. At first saw only a few small fish, but when we swam around the rocks, we came upon a small shipwreck (or maybe two) in the shallows, teeming with fish, including large tangs, schools of yellowtail snapper and a good-sized barracuda. It was definitely the best snorkeling we found on Antigua, and it was quite a lot of fun! (You can drive or walk from Falmouth or English Harbour, but we preferred taking the water taxi from Nelson's Dockyard.)

Nicely setup beach with small reef right off the shore for snorkeling. You can drive down and park outside (limited parking) but it's worth having lunch at Roxys so you can go inside the resort for more parking.

My favorite beach up to now because nobody was there to share the beach with us. So only us two were on the whole beach. You have a nice view also. It is also just walking distance to Pillars of Hercules.
