“One of Antigua's best kept secrets!”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

Our kids claimed this beach as the best in Antigua. We visited a large number of the beaches on the Island (Dickinson, Long Bay, Half Moon, etc) and this beach had everything. The beach is not large but it is rarely crowded so we always found a comfortable spot (in fact we almost always found one of the cabanas free). The were no vendors or people trying to sell you things and we always felt safe there.

The beach itself is great for swimming because it faces Falmouth harbour and this limits the wave action but it there are enough waves for the kids to have lots of fun as well. The scenery around is just spectacular with mountains in front and sailboats anchored in the harbour. It has trees planted providing natural shade (quite unusual and not found on many of the other beaches) as well as wood cabanas allowing for picnics.

Overall, if you can find your way there (get a GPS if you are driving) you will enjoy your time at Pigeon beach. We came back over and over...

“Cute Beach”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

This is a cute and quite little local beach with spectacular views. The water is calm enough for children or those uncomfortable with swimming. The water gets a tad bit rough during high tide but is otherwise, very relaxing to be in. There are picnic tables around, so it's great to bring a light lunch etc. Many tourists place their items on some of the trees closer to the water, which isn't the wisest since they're manchineel (shiny green leaves with a small green fruit). So, avoid putting your items there and put it on the benches nearby. There is also a beach bar called Bumpkins.

“Great Beach!”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

This is a really cute beach. Hidden away and off a pretty beat up road. Once you get past the road, it's completely worth it. There are trees that provide shade if you so choose, and some tables. It seems dog friendly. And it seems to be a good mix of locals and tourists. The snorkleing is pretty good also. There are some great coral reefs out past the little dock and it gets about 10-15 ft deep. Also, Bumpkin is a little restaurant/bar on the beach if you need any refreshments. A great beach to spend the day relaxing.

“Family fun Beach”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

This beach has all the space for a great family activity. A sandy beach that is washed by gentle waves and cooled by the sea breeze. Shade is provided by trees and permanent parasols. A children's play ground is also available. This beach is a little hard to find but once found it become a treasure. Picnic tables, washrooms facilities and restaurant are all available.
