Owner description: Welcome to Dockyard Divers, Antigua. One of the greatest pleasures in life is to go diving. To move in that extra dimension and enjoy the colour and adventure of this other world is something everyone should experience. And of course diving in the warmth of the Caribbean waters is an added bonus. If you haven’t yet got hooked, one great way to see if its for you is to try a beginners or resort course. First a basic, easy to understand lesson, followed by equipment check out in shallow water, and your first dive! After this experience most decide to take a certification course.

2 great dives with my husband! Tony is very experienced and obviously knows the area around English Harbour like the back of his hand. Saw stingray, lobsters and lovely corals. Tony also took underwater photos of us and the things we saw and emailed us copies of the photos after the dive free of charge! Overall an amazing experience with a great instructor!

Tony took a friend and I out for a Wednesday morning dive this past week; after picking us up with his boat at a spot convenient to where we were staying in English Harbour and getting us kitted out, we headed over to the Pillars of Hercules. My friend is a freshly-certified diver and this was her first open-ocean dive - I was very impressed with how thorough Tony was in making sure she was prepared and comfortable with what was going on, and keeping an eye on her under the water while leading us on the dive. After we came up he offered some helpful criticism which made the second dive a lot easier for her, as well.

I'd have a hard time imagining a better first ocean dive than the Pillars: shallow, warm water, great visibility, and many coral, plant and wildlife features to check out. Tony took us on a couple routes that gave us a good chance to see everything - even the regular hiding spot of a sizable moray. He also brought a waterproof point-and-shoot and got some great pictures of the dives that he emailed to us later that day.

We were hoping to get out again on Saturday and Sunday to dive some of the other spots in the area, but Tropical Storm Rafael had other plans - it's the nature of October in the Caribbean! Since things were calming down a bit, Tony actually went out to check conditions on Sunday morning to see if an early afternoon dive would be feasible, but it just wasn't going to work. We're already looking forward to our next trip to Antigua so we can get under the water with Dockyard Divers again.

We had a wonderful morning diving with Tony. Easy dives just minutes from our hotel, picked up in his little boat, and straight down to two lovely dive sights. Originally from England, but now has lived in Antigua 20+ years he can definitely show you some of the best diving in Antigua!

With something around a hundred dives under my weightbelt I have seen my share of divemasters throughout the Caribbean. Tony is one of the best. His quiet and unassuming nature belies a keen attention to safety, and your enjoyment. If there is a less experienced diver in the group he will coach without intimidation making everyone feel comfortable and at ease.

I thoroughly recommend Tony for a great diving experience in Antigua.
