This is how historical sites should be preserved: historical buildings faithfully restored and leased to commercial operators to pay the bills for upkeep.

Lots of history, stories and interesting ship lore.

I took a tour of the island with Elmo & this was one of our stops. It is probably much more appealing during sailboat racing time, but July is low season, so many things were closed... The bakery only had apple turnovers when I arrived at 3pm. The museum is definitely a must see, with many interesting displays. Had I know before I arrived that I could hike out to Fort Berkley, I would have brough tennis shoes & asked for more time there. As it was, I saw the Fort from the dive boat on our excursions out & back from dive sites. There are a few restaurants & one hotel that I saw, but again, quiet during this time...

Walking through nelsons dockyard is like stepping back in history the buildings have been restored and if it is possible to ignore the amazing super yachts in the harbour you can imagine your self back in time

Pretty area with nice views and picture spots. Good bit of history on display and very well redone. Not too much else otherwise.

Do look out for the gas station on it's way to the Harbor. On two different occassions they rang the total up in EC (40 ec each time) but demanded $40 USD. This was by two different employees.

We walked round early evening on our own. Very little going on. Nice views. Restaurants looked pricey
