Decided to break out from our all inclusive resort (Galley Bay) for a day out as my husband wanted to see the only Georgian working harbour in the world. Took a taxi (with Marcus) who also took us to Shirley Hights for a photo call (amazing views). In total the taxi fare (return) cost us US$ 100 plus admission fee (US$8 each). Nelsons Dockyard can be covered in quite a short time (even the museum is small), but it is interesting and scenic. There are a few shops and cafes/restaurants, a post office and bank. Just don't expect it to take up much of your day (Marcus suggested 45 minutes would be enough to walk around the dockyard). We were there during Antigua Sailing week, so there was more to see with the boats moared up. Great place for a lunch. Also English Harbour is a 5 minute walk away (with more racing yachts to see). There are plenty of taxis available in the area, so there is no need to pre-arrnage one for your return journey as we did.
