“Well restored historic site”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

We loved visiting Nelson's Dockyard 40 years ago, when last in Antigua, and it was a highlight of our trip again this time. Well restored, interesting and full of lovely restaurants and gorgeous boats!

“Beautiful place to visit!”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

This has got to be the most amazing place to visit! If you visit Antigua either by boat or just staying in a hotel make the effort to go and see this dockyard. Full of history such a lovely location. The people are just so,friendly and informative. There is a wealth of history there and you need to take the time to wander around and appreciate it all.

“Fun to look at the boats!”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Loved looking at the yatchs and dreaming of the day we could leisurely cruise the islands. Would love to spend more time on Antigua!

“Overcommercialised”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

The dockyard is well restored but it would have been nice if every one of the historic buildings hadn't been converted into a souvenir/gift shop of one type or other. There was not enough information regarding the site easily available in the way of information boards etc. The museum was very small. Not bad for a short walk and at 8 USD overpriced

“Disappointing”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

It's truly unfortunate that their idea of a historical site is to convert every historical building into some kind of gift shop, restaurant, hotel, or store, and then post a small sign outside each building to explain what it once was. The museum was okay, I suppose, and the bakery had some delicious items for sale at reasonable prices. .

Saw everything in about 40 minutes and left by water taxi. Not worth the $8 US entry fee.
