“Best Rose Lunch”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

If you are in English Harbor, you must visit Catherine's for a rose lunch. The restaurant itself is so beautifully decorated and with Pigeon Beach as the backdrop, it doesn't get much better. I would have to say, Catherine's has the best service in Antigua. The (very attractive) french waiters always greet you with a huge and genuine smile, the local waitresses are hilarious and make your experience fun and personal. Catherine, the proprietor is super sweet (she picked me up hitchhiking to the beach one day) and makes sure to greet everyone. It's always someone's birthday there, and you'll know it when you hear Michael Jackson's "Happy Birthday" blasting and everyone in the restaurant starts dancing... and for some reason it is in no way obnoxious or cheesy or dreadful the way birthday songs are in most restaurants. The ambiance is chic and classy without a hint of pretension. The food is spectacular! I don't know what I like better, the starters, the mains or the desserts... get them all! I ate there three times and I didn't have one dish I wasn't crazy about. I spent my last day in Antigua there with a group of 5 girls and we managed to get almost everything on the menu, 3 magnums of Rose, countless Espresso Martinis and a few rounds of Margaritas. Around 2pm we started at a table for a very extended lunch, and around 5 we moved over to the comfy lounge table and chairs on the sand. We sipped drinks in the hammocks and laid in the beanbags until about 8pm. If we would have spent that much time at any place in the US, they'd be trying to kick us out, but at Catherine's they just kept on serving with a smile! Thank you Catherine's and especially our waiter Diedier for an amazing end to a wonderful season! xoxo

“Fantastic lunch!”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

A real find. Lovely restaurant right on a gorgeous beach. Very attentive and pleasant French hosts. We had a steak sandwich and a goats cheese salad and both delicious. Lovely complimentary Parmesan biscuits as a starter along with bread. Very attractive setting with views onto the bay with lots of sailing boats. Great toilets (!). Quite trendy clientele. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Antigua.

“Atmosphere overcomes the food.”
Reviewed April 20, 2014

We ate here today for lunch and really enjoyed the ambiance and hospitality. The food was fine, but not worth the price, fortunately the atmosphere more than made up for it. I don't recommend the lobster soup, ours tasted burnt and when we didn't eat it and sent it back, they still charged us. Also, the bread seemed stale. We still had a great time because of the views and the general cheery sense of community. Next time we would skip the food and just order drinks.

“Can't wait to go back!”
Reviewed April 14, 2014

The restaurant is by the edge of a beach looking out across the azure blue sea.

Your hosts are gentle charming people who want you to have a wonderful time, and their staff follow the same code.

Our food was delicious, the wine excellent and great vfm.

I am not blessed with a sweet tooth and puddings are wasted on me..........mostly. However, the Tart tatin was just one of the best things I have ever eaten. Brilliant!

Difficult to praise them enough without sounding like a member of the family.
