“A must do in Antigua”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2013 via mobile

You have to go on a Sunday night from about 5.30pm. It finishes about 10pm.
Food, music and drinks are plentiful.
The sunset is one of the best I have ever seen and when the sun is down the view over English Harbour is intoxicating.
As it gets busy it is not really suitable for young children or push chairs.

“Fantastic views”

This was worth the ticket price. The views down onto English harbour / Nelson's dockyard were great. Lovely and peaceful.

“Loved it!”

Go for the sunset and the ceremony if you can. It is small and shouldn't take long. Kid friendly - just music and dance. Not sure if it is a daily occurrence but your hotel concierge should know.

“Highlight of my holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2013

Shirley Heights is almost like an icon of Antigua and we visited twice during our stay. We drove our rented car and the car park was free of charge. Music night was quite busy but the atmosphere was great. The view of the sunset was beautiful and the steel band was brilliant. The best part of the night was the reggae band started at 7pm after the steel band. The vocalist, Lincoln "Blade" Stanislaus was just amazing and he sang reggae and also pop songs. Apparently, he only does a gig at Shirley Heights on the third Sunday of the month. All of this cost us the entrance fee of EC$20 per person which was very good value for money compared with other attractions in Antigua. We went back to Shirley Heights again during the day. The place was very quiet and the view of English Harbour was breath taking. The entrance charge for day visit was I think EC$22 per person. This covers Nelson's Dockyard entrance as well.

“I don't get the appeal.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2013

Except for the view and the music, I do not see why this place is so popular. If is definitely not worth the $60 we spent on shuttle and entry fee.

It was very crowded and loud. We went with two other couples from Cocobay and were we pleased that we were all ready to go back an hour before the scheduled return.
