“Peaceful, convenient”
Reviewed November 19, 2011

I have stayed here several times, and most recently booked for an older relative. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the place is relatively new. Despite being close to the main road and airport the rooms are still quiet and peaceful at night.
The internet access is a definite plus.
The staff were helpful and accomodating of our needs, especially with airport arrangements in mind. The only drawback is the distance from eateries and convenience stores, but even those are a short taxi-ride away.

We stayed here on the last night of our trip since we had an early flight the next morning. Its a great place for something like this. The rooms were bright and adequate and the owner was wonderful. When the taxi he called to take us to a local beach didn't come, he drove us and another guest there himself. They will accomodate you in anyway that they can.
I also like to watch planes and this was a great place to watch the jumbos from. There is some noise but unless you are a very light sleeper, this is not an issue. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony outside our room having a cool drink, watching the planes and enjoying our final night in Antigua.
I would definately recommend Windchimes and would stay there again.

I made three trips to St John's on business in June and July this year. I could not have been happier with the Wind Chimes. I was working long days so having an inclusive breakfast hand delivered to the room each morning at a time of my choosing saved time in not having to go to a dining room. There's no pool, it's nowhere near a beach and there are no leisure amenities - so if any of those are important to you, look elsewhere. But for my purposes it was perfect. Clean, comfortable rooms with free wireless internet, good TV, coffee maker, fridge and microwave (there's a local restaurant that will deliver, but these facilities allowed me to stock up at the local Epicurean supermarket).
I became quite fond of the planes coming and going from my second-floor balcony. And best of all was manager Collin's hospitality. The dates of my trips kept changing, even as I was staying there, and Collin couldn't have been more accommodating (and friendly) about my constant and unpredictable comings and goings! Superb value for money and I recommend this place highly.

Room Tip: Room 7, second floor, is the best room. Two extra windows and above the office, so no noise from gue...

Reading through the other reviews, one thing stands out VFM! At $95 US a night for a fab room at this BandB is a bargain. What do you get? Airy, spacious room with AC, balcony, good security, shower, fridge and free internet. Oh yes, and breakfast is included in the price, served to your room! For plane spotters it's a delight, for every balcony overlooks the airport runway, a problem if it were Heathrow, but it's not and the occasional aircraft noise is not a problem if you keep the balcony door shut. Moreover, at night it's great fun to sit on the balcony with a drink or two and watch the small blinking light get larger and larger out to sea until the plane swoops in to land in front of your eyes. WOW! Will be back!

We were looking for a cheap place to stay in Antigua since we planned on spending most of the time outdoors. I found this hotel online and after reading the reviews we decided this is the place. Collin the owner was so efficent with his emails from the time we placed the booking to arrival. He helped us get a rental car and when we were leaving we left the car there and took care that it was returned. We were very pleased with our room, it looked just like the pictures online and we were very surprised to get a complimentary cell phone which you can topup as you go. There are no restaurants at this hotel but you can get delivery until very late and there are some very good affordable eateries nearby. The front desk has a variety of drinks and snacks as well in case you get peckish. We felt very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. I would say we got great value for the money spent and we will return.

we had all in all a good stay there, nice room noisy planes coming and going. we found a little cat screaming in front of our appartment and cleaned this little kitty with the towels we had. everybody is so over-friendly in personal contact, but afterwards they let us give a overpriced bill for cleaning the towels around 15o dollar ! we tried to talk with them but we couldnt get in contact with them in personal anymore. it left an ungood feeling inside us.

Like most people, my husband and I had overnight stays. We needed a place before and after our vacation in Barbuda. For a small budget-friendly Inn, they really took excellent care of us!

We arrived very late at night and Colin's mother-in-law was waiting for us. We had been traveling all day and we were starving. She called a place and thankfully they delivered until 11 p.m. I think. We barely made it - but she made all the arrangements for us. The food was really good!

Colin kept our luggage for us because our flight out was in the evening long after check-out. We came back on our way out of the islands and arrived in the morning - long before check-in. Because we arrived so early and we were taking a boat trip that day in Antigua, Colin allowed us to drop our bags in a room (we hadn't checked in and the room looked like someone just checked out of it). Plus, one of our bags didn't make the flight back and we let him know someone would be dropping it off to him (thank you Lighthouse Bay for arranging that for us). Anyway, Colin took care of everything. When we came back in the evening, our delayed luggage was in the room and the room was impeccably clean. Again, we were hungry (dinner time and we had no car), so Colin's mother-in-law again arranged for us to have a meal delivered to our room. She had Colin bring us our credit card receipt to check us in, etc.

The room looks just like pictured. It even had a refrigerator and microwave! American Airlines lost some of our luggage, so thank goodness, there were little shampoos and soap. We had NO toiletries, not even deodorant for a few days.

Antigua and Barbuda are different than the U.S. and even different from other islands we've visited. We definitely needed help to get around and get what we needed - and Colin and the staff were so helpful. We've never seen that sort of generous hospitality.

It was funny, several of the taxi drivers didn't know where we were going, but say, "At the end of the runway and next to the Hertz Rental," and they know where to go. The Inn was very cute and painted a lovely orange - almost like a Sherbert. We saw some crazy large British Airways jet land right in front of the room - it was nuts!

Anyway, this is a wonderful place and we would have no hesitation to stay there again. Thank you so much Colin and Eva (I think it's Eva), and to the housekeeping staff - everything was perfect (and very affordable)!

Theresa
