we visit Antigua a fair bit , we have done the xtreme trip a few times but never get bored,i returned again this March with some friends (mr & mrs) that have never been to Antigua before, they loved the island and the loved the day out on the xtreme, the weather was just great with probably the best high cloud i have ever seen, the winds were really light so we had a smooth trip, the food was good and the crew were just great, they go out of their way to make sure people have a great day, they are polite and very friendly, i would recommend this trip to anyone and find it hard to see how anyone could complain

Absolutely loved this trip round the north of the Island stopping off at Hell's Gate and Bird Island.
Felt amazing to be out on the Caribbean Sea with a crew who who are so at home there.

Enjoyed stopping off at the different hotels to pick up other passengers and getting to see some of the other resorts on the Island. (And do so hope Antigua stops building new resorts and preserves what natural coastline is left as it is so very beautiful.)

Trevor's commentary is great - particularly enjoyed how passionate he is about Antigua's nature and sea. Loved the mangroves, seeing all the Pelican's nesting on an Island we passed and the birds diving and nesting at Bird Island - what a privilege. Swimming over to clamber over Hell's Gate was brilliant.

All the other people on the boat were friendly and created a nice fun atmosphere on the boat chatting and getting to know one other. I was travelling on my own so particularly enjoyed this aspect.

My only feedback would re the snorkelling to divide the groups up in to advance and beginners on the boat so the guide leading each group is conscious of numbers and who they have out in the water with them. It's been a while since I've been out swimming on a fairly open sea so was a bit nervous and turned back - it would have felt better if I'd known the guide was conscious I was with him rather than setting off without knowing and who ever wanted to join in could. That said was aware it was just my own mental fear!

Was sorry to see the day end when we pulled in to Jolly Harbour. Oh and who ever makes the banana bread to go with the Rum punch is clearly a bit of a genius.

Great value too.

Gwen and I have always wanted to cruise on the seas around Antigua on our previous visits and were finally able to do it this time with our family. The crew was fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful, we enjoyed it immensely. Highly recommended!

Eco Tour - In the beginning we were a bit worried that the trip might be a disaster. It was raining all the way to our first stop and the crew wasn't very talkative as we passed by things. The rain let up by the time we reached Hell's Gate. At the actual stops: Hells Gate, Bird Island, Mangroves, etc. the crew was more talkative/informative.

Hell's Gate was fun to explore, walking through the cave and on top of the bridge. Bring water shoes (the rocks are sharp). You have the option to snorkel or explore Hell's Gate. Do the latter. The main snorkeling location is later on in the trip. The mangroves were beautiful. The snorkeling location was fantastic with tons of coral and fish. They had an advanced group and a beginners snorkeling group, so you could swim as close or far from the boat as you wanted. They provided snorkeling gear, including flippers.

Safety was always a priority for the crew: They provided life jackets for those that needed them, helped with finding footing during hikes, getting in and out of the boat, and provided snorkeling lessons to first timers. Bird Island was beautiful from the top, definitely do the hike rather than stay at the beach. I got some beautiful panoramics! Lunch was very good: pasta salad, lettuce salad, fried plantains, baked chicken, fruit juices, rum punch... and there was plenty for seconds!

It was a great tour and I would recommend it to other first time visitors. It could be improved by talking more about Antigua itself or some of the formations we passed. When things were talked about it was only loud enough for select parts of the boat to hear. A mega phone would be a nice touch so that everyone can hear.
