“Good food, but be prepared to wait..”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

We stayed at the Bluewaters resort for a week and ate here for dinner at least three times. Their lobster dishes were good (both grilled and thermidor style). We also had the snapper and filet mignon, all of which were good too. I had the crab cakes (which were disappointing) and escargot was so-so. Presentation was nice and portions were on par with other semi-fancy restaurants. Main entrees comes with choice of 3 sides - we had the rosti potatoes, creamed spinach and rice pilaf. There was quite a few side selections. Prices for main dishes start at $30 USD.

Ambience is romantic, sitting on the edge of a small cove with seats facing the ocean. I agree with what others posted, that it can be a bit dark unless you're sitting in areas with lights above you.

Where the restaurant needs to improve on is the speed. The wait staff was fine and attentive, but the food came out really slow in all the three times we were there. We waited for about an hour for our main dish and about 30 min for our appetizer. The table next to us complained because they waited for almost 2 hours to get their main dish. This is obviously a kitchen problem. I don't know if what we and others experienced was due to understaffing as we came here right at the early start of the season (or end of their off season). I'm hoping it's not a consistent problem because it would be a shame as everything else was done right.

“A special place”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

This restaurant is very chic, and we were lucky enough to be given a table right at the waters edge. The welcome was warm and efficient, and we enjoyed our lobster cocktail starters. The main courses too were very good, but as a previous commentator has said, a little more light to enable us to see what we were eating would have been appreciated. Highly recommended

“What a Delight”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

We were staying on the resort and in one of Blue Waters "Cove Suites" under an all inclusive deal. With this package we were given a $50 per person credit to use in this restaurant.

We had a drink in the Cove Bar the night before and decided to book our sitting for the next night. The manager booked this up and I asked for the "table for two" right at the end overlooking the cove. This was arranged and we were amazed.

We had a drink at the bar before being invited to take our seats, The timing of service was great, pleasant staff and the food was out of this world. We had built a friendship with one of the bar staff down at the pool bar and their she was looking after us at the Cove Restaurant, Shinikina's personality was very warm and welcoming..."VERY ANTIGUAN" Welcome as a friend must be one of their core values.

The only thing I could comment about the table where we were sitting, their wasn't enough light to clearly see our menu's but we didn't mind about something that small.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and say its a "must do" 10 out of 10

“Not bad, but a little pricey ...”
Reviewed April 10, 2012

Even though we didn't stay at the Blue Waters Resort, I'd heard through word of mouth that The Cove Restaurant had stunning views of the sea, and wanting to make the most of our holiday in Antigua, we decided to give it a try. The drive there was an experience itself, very dense greenery and bushy throughout, and thinking that our driver had taken a wrong turn towards the sea, The Cove suddenly appeared in front of us like an oasis. After a warm welcome by all the staff, we were escorted to a table overlooking the sea - just beautiful!

Before our meal arrived, we spent a while at the bar taking in the odd cocktail or two.

The food itself was ok, but my only complaint was that it was a bit pricey for the small portions on offer. However, if you want a good romantic evening out, with views to match; The Cove Restaurant wouldn't be such a bad choice.

“Unacceptably poor food, poor service, lovely setting & helpful management”
Reviewed September 2, 2011

We went here on our first night and never went back.
This is the signature restaurant for the hotel and what a dissappointment.
I sent back my starter and we both sent back our mains. We ordered white wine and this arrive circa 35 mins later. Unfortunately they brough us a red, we waited to get that changed and then they brough the white we ordered with no ice bucket.
The price is very high for such a poor meal. There is MUCH MUCH better restauraunts away from the hotel.

In fairness the manager came over and was very professional and polite and refunded us our meal. The view is beautiful from the restaurant, its just a pity about the very sub standard food quality. Definately not worth the price.
