“Good tour for the family”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

Were on a cruise in March and hadn't been to Antigua before. Very easy to meet Gordon on dock and we were quickly on our way. Had our kids (18-13) as well as my mother with us. He answered all of my mom's questions and ensured all had a good time. Not too rushed but also kept on schedule. We toured the island and saw all the sights. Gordon made sure we got to experience the culture with the tour and food stops. You can tell he loves his job and meeting new people. Would rather travel with him than buying a packaged trip from the boat. He is very good at answering inquiries by email before you travel. If you are looking for a good tour book with Gordon.

“Excellent Day Out”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

We booked on line with Gordon having read good reviews beforehand. We were only on the Island for one day (part of a cruise) and Gordan gave us detailed instructions about where and when to meet and which were very easy to follow. There should have been 4 of us but two people had to cancel their holiday at short notice. I Emailed Gordan to explain and he said it was not a problem and we could still have our tour at the same price. We had been to Antigua before and so pre-arranged our own itinerary which was essentially, English Harbour (with Shirley Heights etc) and then Valley Church beach. We were met by Gordan and then handed on to Leon. Given the fact that there were just 2 of us we felt this was fair and did not expect that someone with Gordan's ratings would jeopordise his reputation and this proved to be correct. Leon looked after us extremely well. He was friendly, informative and very personable and provided exactly what we wanted. We had explained what we wanted to have as much time as we wished at the various locations and would time our tour end by how much time was left for the beach. Leon did not rush us at in any way and made a point of saying a couple of times that it was our day out and that we were in charge of timings. Leon advised us what to do at each location and changed the order of the areas to visit at English Harbour because the short orientation video was being shown in German when we arrived. This saved us waiting and thereby wasting time and was very much appreciated.

Overall, we were very pleased with our day out, pleased with the communications prior to arrival and very happy with Leon who was not only very pleasant company but also drove very carefully and we felt very comfortable at all times. We would have no hesitation in booking with Gordan again and would very possibly request that we are accompanied by Leon again.

“Disappointed with tour”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

We arranged for a Best of Paradise Beach tour with Gordan when our ship docked in Antigua Feb. 18, 2013. We were expecting Gordan as our tour guide however Gary became the guide instead, for some unknown reason. Unfortunately, our tour did not go smoothly. When we arrived at Nelson's Dockyard, Gary left us abruptly after purchasing tickets for our group of 8. He took the tickets with him. When we tried to go through the ticket stiles, we were not permitted as we didn't have tickets! So, we immediately went in search of our tour guide who had left us. He eventually showed up but we missed the entire tour of the historic dockyards. We were told that Gordan and his company would "make it us to us" but at the conclusion of our tour, nothing was said or done to compensate for the loss of our money or the Nelson's Dockyards tour.

The driver guide, Gary, drove rapidly from one location to another, with no narrative along the way. He did not seem interested in pointing out key sights or giving us an explanation of what we passed.

We were eventually taken to Valley Church Beach which is a gorgeous one, however, as the group soon discovered, the changing facilities are very inadequate. The wooden shacks have large holes and cracks in the walls so one has no privacy whatsoever. In fact, we witnessed many individuals attempting to change behind towels in the open. The toilets were not adequate, either, as they were very tiny and not suitable for changing into bathing suites. Would recommend changing into bathing suits prior to going to this beach. No one in our group, which included Europeans, changed into bathing suits because of the status of the changing facilities. The group went to the bar/restaurant as swimming was no longer an option.

On a positive note, we did enjoy the lunch meat pies and drinks we were given. Antigua is a beautiful island but sadly we did not have the tour we had hoped we would.

We were on a cruise and made these arrangements privately based on the good reviews of Gordan. Our guide was Leon, and since we were the last to be assigned to a guide, it was just our family -2 parents and 2 college age daughters. The van was very comfortable and had A/C so that gave us a great start. The tour took us to 2 national parks where we paid admission and had a tour guide from the parks. The entrance fee was $8.00 each which did add considerably to the end total. This is noted on the website so we were expecting the extra charges. Leon was very knowledgeable and not only gave us facts about the island but also personal perspectives which made the tour very interesting. One of the highlights was the brown bread with cheese that was a snack at our first stop. We saw some beautiful scenery and had great picture taking opportunities. As we were returning to the pier, we wanted another brown bread and cheese sandwich so Leon took us into town to a bakery where we could buy more sandwiches! The local businesses do not have signs so we wouldn't have found it on our own. This was greatly appreciated as my daughters loved those sandwiches! I would highly recommend this tour as is a good value for the $50 per person and we enjoyed it very much!

“Have a great time with Gordon.”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

We had a delightful day with Grodon and his daughter visiting a variety of sites on Antigua. We found him to be very friendly and a perfect host. He was very knowledgable about the island and its history. He also gave us refreshments and some local food to hold us over during our tour. So for a very resonable price we learned about Anitgua, saw many beautiful sites, and spent some time at the beach. We didn't ask him to sing which I regret. If we ever return to Antigua we will definitely take some tour time with Gordon.
