My wife and I stayed at Siboney in Mid-February. Our room overlooked beautiful tropical gardens and the pool which was nestled nicely in the tropical garden. We sat on our balcony and started our mornings with this view and the accompanying humming birds near us in the trees. The beach was in view and very nice, and while not large, seemed to have many of the adjacent hotel guests visiting and staying for several hours.

The staff was very helpful and very nice. They would happily make dinner recommendations and reservations, suggest places to go and generally attend to our needs. They were good natured and friendly. We had an opportunity to meet the owner who built the hotel and still live on site. He was going to have his ninetieth birthday in a few weeks. He offered insights into the hotel and his life that were fascinating.

Our room was clean and nice. It had a kitchenette that we used for breakfast and coffee. While somewhat dated, that didn't matter. The charm of the room was unquestionable.

The hotel has a beachfront restaurant attached that served some of the best food we had while on our vacation. Again, it was not unusual to see many guests from neighboring hotels there at the bar or restaurant. The hotel is within walking distance of several other restaurants and a new casino. A large food store, comparable to something you might find in the U.S., was within walking distance.

I was surprised to find out that the property only has 12 rooms. I felt we received first class service by a staff of wonderful people willing to share there insights into the island, the area and the hotel. If you are looking for a large property with live bands, elevators, a big lobby, with lots of people - this is not the place for you.

We found our stay to be relaxing while on the wonderful beach, in our charming room and in the absolutely gorgeous garden area. This is a unique property and we are fortunate to have found it. We met people there that have been returning year after year, for decades.

So, would we come back, absolutely.

Stayed for 4 days in mid-February 2014 with wife and 3-yr. old daughter. A wonderful, quiet little hotel. The lush garden creates a peaceful zone that attracts many birds. So nice to hear them chirping in the morning and to see the hummingbirds at the feeder outside our patio.

Be sure to get off your fat fanny and seek out the wisdom of Ulysses, the gardener and resident philosopher who has nurtured this mini-jungle masterpiece over 30 years. A shout out as well to Lina and Caroline, the friendly maids.

Don't forget to wander up the beach to Sandals so that you can smugly mock the fools who paid top dollar for a crowded pool and noisy nightly 'entertainment' (seriously; "Guantanamera" sung with a rasta accent?).

If you are not geriatric, the young fellows hanging around near the jet-ski rental shop at the edge of Sandals may offer their "herbal products" (nudge nudge, wink wink) to you. The guys are harmless and friendly but you should decline and wander over to the tuck shop in the parking lot of Antigua Village for a bottle of rum.

Stayed here on a work trip to Antigua for 3 days. Honestly, I don't understand the positive reviews. The rooms are dated and dirty; the bed coverings smelled; and the rooms come supplied with both insect repellent for your personal use and insecticide for the room. I had plenty of insect bites each morning upon waking. WIFI did not work in the room. Fortunately, we checked out a day earlier than originally planned. One night was more than enough. We were very glad to leave.

Stayed at the Siboney for 4 nights. Nice location right on the beach. Certainly a nice alternative to the Sandal's type of experience. Very clean rooms and a caring helpful staff. Lovely gardens which made sitting out on the porch while having breakfast just a great way to start the day. The rooms have slated doors overlooking the gardens, so we did have some mosquitos...but not overly problematic. Fantastic beach and water.

Room Tip: While the Ocean view suites are lovely, they are also facing the restaurant and central area of the...

My husband and I just returned from Siboney Beach club and had a wonderful experience. Every single person on the staff- the owner, the women at the front desk, the groundskeepers, and the cleaning crew were some of the sweetest people we have ever met. Everyone made sure we were enjoying our stay and gave us helpful advice on things to do around the island. We got around the island with Barry Oliver's taxi service and highly recommend calling him for any trips you take. He is so friendly and knowledgeable (phone- 268-724-9119) and always on time!

we had 4 hours to spend between connecting flights and were recommended the Siboney Beach Club for supper; the food and service was very good, and an ideal stop off, with the views onto the beach and the sunset, a far better place to be than Antigua Airport which is awful!

We stayed at Siboney Beach Club for a couple of nights after a week-long stay at the other end of the island at St. James Club. The rooms are small one-bedroom apartments. Very cozy with all the room amenities needed for a pleasant vacation. The hotel is located next door to the huge, overblown Scandals, sorry - Sandals, Resort, which made Siboney seem just that much more of a welcome oasis among the craziness of Dickinson's Bay. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The gardens were kind of overgrown which would probably make the ground floor units sort of dark and possibly buggy. Never saw anyone use the pool. The on-site restaurant (though not affiliated with the hotel?), was quite good - for any meal.

For something to do, ask for Captain Nash. He owns the 27 ft. sailboat moored off the Sandals Resort and will take you sailing for a fair price. He's quite a character, and an excellent skipper. You can head just north out into the Atlantic for a more adventurous and thrilling sail, or head down the coast for a much calmer day in the turquoise Caribbean.

Room Tip: I think we stayed in Room #7, which was top (3rd) floor on the western end, facing the ocean. Clear...
