Unfortunately we arrived one day late on this wonderful island of Antigua and in this wonderful place one can call paradise. We have been welcomed by the whole team so nicely after having had a night-mare arrival do to LIAT, the regional airline carrier. All have pampered us throughout our stay, from the owner of the hotel Tony, an exceptional person, to every single person working there. Even though the Restaurant was closed during our stay the bar was open and we had here as well an exceptional experience. One day at lunchtime we stayed at the wonderful, palm-tree covered “private” beach when the owners of the restaurant/bar asked us if we would like to have a pizza delivered – and it was a pizza, better than any we had eaten back home…
In reference to the room, we had a small apartment with dormitory, living and a small kitchen – everything was in place, everything was more than clean, there was nothing at all that one would be able to complain.
As the restaurant was closed we have been proposed different restaurants during our stay and on the first evening we even had the pleasure of being driven to dinner by our gentle host Tony.
Thanks a lot to everyone in the team, for having made our stay in your hotel and on your island such a special one.

Room Tip: Best are the rooms with ocean front view, but, as what I have seen, all rooms are in very good condi...

this was a very nice relaxing week... we were first put in room 10 and the open air concept is not ideal during Antigua's hottest month of the year! We have felt trapped in the bedroom where the only AC unit was. That room also looked a bit run down and comforter looked stained. HOWEVER, the staff moved us to room 1 on the ground floor and it was a night/day difference! the room was in overall much better condition with AC units in living room and bedroom so less bugs and comfortable temperatures in all rooms. I think the open concept would feel nice if it was a better more breezy time of year. The pool is a little oasis and the one good thing about going in September was there are not many people or families traveling at this time (other than a couple of locals the beach and restaurant were quiet) . The only day or two it was annoying with vendors was when the cruise ships docked (constant soliciting so perhaps bring a 'no soliciting' sign and stake it next to your chair ;) All in all though we enjoyed our stay ... BTW their is hot water here but their dials work opposite than ours (hot water is to the right well this was the case in rm 1) Also Martin the taxi driver was a pleasure and took us all over... also there is a little calico tabby cat we named Harper pls give her a treat every now an then :)

Room Tip: ground floor with 2 ac's if open concept is not your 'thang'

Sometimes when you find the perfect spot you are afraid it will become too popular and change as a result but this hotel run by Tony and his daughter Jamila and their wonderful staff has over the 15 years I have been visiting not only improved but maintained its best feature and become my "go to" perfect holiday destination. The rooms are well appointed and the garden and pool are an idyllic setting to sunbath, read and relax. Literally a few steps away is the perfect beach which just happens to have one of Antigua's best beach restaurants The Coconut Grove.
I cannot recommend this place too highly to the person looking for a relaxing, friendly, beautiful place to stay near enough to the action yet wonderfully serene and private.

Room Tip: If you have young children I would pick one of the rooms on the ground floor.

We were there in 2012 in our babymoon and we feel almost as at home, the owner was very nice with us as well his daughter. If you want to enjoy Antigua by yourself, getting out of the massive hotels, that is your place. They can arrange as well some trips inside Antigua & Barbuda and they will help you as much as they can.

Our adult daughter and partner joined us when we visited in June and we were all charmed by the smiling friendly and attentive staff from the moment of our arrival hot and weary after a flight from the UK. The location right on a white coral beach and the stunning endlessly tended tropical garden are enough in themselves but the experience is made by every member of the staff without exception who could never do enough to make us feel welcome and probably the most important guests ever to have stayed there. With only 12 rooms you soon get to know everyone. Our ground floor suite with a well fitted kitchenette and a small sitting room leading to a shady terrace was well worth the small extra, was immaculately clean and we felt not done justice by the website photographs. An excellent bed, perfectly acceptable furnishings, a well fitted bathroom with lashings of hot water and remarkable sound insulation from other rooms all helped to make our stay memorable. I too have read the March report and wonder if the contributor stayed somewhere else. The fact that she thinks we British are the ones with an accent may explain a lot! (Sorry colonials, just joking)
The beach restaurant served very acceptable food from early till late and our favorite diversion was to stroll along in front of the enormous Sandals resort and be grateful we were not staying there queuing for our meals. There is a great deal to do if you can tear yourself away from the beach which we usually had to ourselves or could walk a few yards to half a mile of empty sand and sea.
If you decide to go please keep this glimpse of paradise to yourself.
None of the catagories below quite fit our profile.

Room Tip: We loved our ground floor room with direct access to the garden and pool but did not look at any oth...

We enjoyed the prime beachfront location with its long, postcard-perfect beach, (with enough privacy for skinny-dipping at night!), the lovely pool set in a lush tropical garden, the lending library, the friendly staff, and the free snorkel gear rental. As to the adjoining beach-front Coconut Grove restaurant, we now understand why staff told us upon check-in that "the bar closes when the last man leaves."
He's still waiting for his drink.

Well I'll just start out with Kahori is AWESOME. She was a wealth of knowledge on places to check out and places to get some great meals. She was also very helpful in sorting out different difficulities of our stay. Changing rooms to get two ac units, giving us a fan for increase circulation in the room, getting help with bags, tending my wounds* etc etc....

The pool area was amazing surrounded by what felt like a tropical paradise. Keep an eye out for the many hummingbirds. The property is quite nice on a pretty little beach just down from Sandals. I was not keen on the pushy vendors setting up shop on the property. My wife bought one item from them on the first day....and they kept hawking their wares to us every time we went by them.

* Becareful of the stairs in the rain, they get VERY slick and the gripy tape on the steps is worn down. I took a hard tumble down a flight of stairs while walking down them while it was raining and we were trying to check out. Kahori was quick to tend to my lacerations, but I will be going to my doctor Monday to see if I need stitches on one.
- One thing that did irk, me was that the hotel taxi driver (martin) was of no help with loading bags. He opted to hold the trunk door "open" (which would have stayed open anyhow as I saw on drop off) so he could stay dry. Instead leaving all bag hauling and loading to my wife and I with a porter taking one bag (out of 5) letting us getting unnecessarily wet while he stayed dry.

Room Tip: Get a room with two AC units. The single AC unit is in the bedroom and the living room is not protec...
