We stayed at Blue Waters for 8 days in June. Let me just start by saying it was one of the best trips I have been on in a very long time! We stayed in the cove suites. Our room was beyond perfect! Although we shared a pool with the other cove rooms we did not see anyone else until the next to the last day we were there. The food was fantastic and the staff was so nice and accommodating. We are looking forward to our next visit very soon. FYI.... The tour desk set up a fantastic island tour with a local tour guide. He was a historian, and a poet! Spent the entire day touring the island and learning it's history as well as our guides history as well!

Room Tip: Spend the extra for the cove suites..... Or if money is not an issue... Rent the rock cottage! We wi...

We had a lovely 11 nights all inclusive and found the hotel was ideal for our whole family. The staff were really sweet especially with our 2 and a half year old Bea .... Special mention should go to Carolyn and Tremaine who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The bathrooms are newly fitted and nicely done and the sea view from our room in the 100 block was amazing. The food was plentiful and varied and the head chef asked us to let him know if there was anything else we needed. The transfer from the hotel is literally 15 minutes which was great after a long flight. We are looking forward to returning next year.

A great place to stay, the staff are probably the thing that lifts this hotel above others,
they are efficient friendly and seem to want to go out of their way to make your stay special.
Tfremaine who runs the bar near the beach epitomises everything that makes this place special.
A slight criticism is the food in the fine dining restaurant is not of 5* standard ,with limited menu and variable quality.
If you stay you must walk along the beach to the water sports centre and let the guys take you out sailing ,they are very good at what they and also very funny ,we had a great afternoon with them.

Stayed here in February 14, for 10 nights all inclusive. Cannot begin to describe how amazing this resort is. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty as were the rest of the guests.
Staff were a huge contribution to the excellence here, they all knew you by name and took time to come and talk with you and offer any help and advice. Facilities were fantastic, we stayed in a 1 bed roomed suite on the top floor ( shared pool), with our own private terrace. Our mini was stocked daily and even we're given request sheets if there was anything we wanted. We were even given a mobile phone to use to book everything.

We were lucky as England were playing a 1 day international against the West Indies, and even though we won, the celebrations carried on all afternoon it was amazing and I don't follow cricket!

Will definitely return here again in the not to distant future, they, as a resort really have luxury and the feeling of making your holiday something special off to a fine art. Don't have enough words to describe how awesome this place really is. A definite must if you are planning on staying in Antigua.

Well where to start??? First its going to be a long one, sorry. This was our first time at Blue Waters and indeed our first time to the Caribbean so don’t really have to much compare it against? Don’t really want to repeat many of the comments below as I’d just be saying the same thing but rest assured that the hotel and staff on the whole are superb.

I’d like to talk about things that I wanted to know before traveling. First it’s expensive imo, if on B&B expect to pay around us$12 or £7.50 for a pint of beer. Average two-course meal would be around us$60 or £37 per person (without drinks). Not sure how this compares the rest of Antigua or the Caribbean? We were AI by the way. There are 3 restaurants on site, The Cove, The Palm and Bartley’s (which we didn’t use). The Cove is absolutely sublime, great food, great service and a wonderful setting. Would have eaten there every night but sadly it only opens on certain days. Just thinking about the filet mignon is making my mouth water….. Many thanks to all the staff from The Cove who made us feel like VIP guests each time we went. The Palm usually has a BBQ or buffet on during the evening but you can also order off the all day menu, which we did most of the time. Again food was great but service levels while good are not up to The Cove standard.

There are 3 bars, one in the main lobby area, one next to the main pool and one on the beach side pool. Used all three and they would pretty much make anything you wanted, some cocktails were not included on the AI plan so check before ordering. Carolyn’s at the beach pool bar was great and you can see why so many guest posts wonderful comments about her, don’t think she’d mind me saying she’s now part of the furniture at Blue Waters. A true credit to the hotel. Will miss my mango and strawberry crush Carolyn ;-) We stayed in the Cove suites so if you stay around the cove pools a member of bar staff will come around and take your orders, however we found this service to be a bit hit & miss. Some days you’d get drinks other days you’d never see anyone??

Okay now accommodation. As stated we were lucky enough to stay in the Cove suites and in the Penthouse. The room was massive (bigger than our whole house!) and could easily accommodate 6+ adults. It had 3 double beds rooms each with its own bathroom (two with baths one with just a shower). A very large living area with inside and outside dinner tables. Full size American style fridge/freezer along with oven, microwave and so on. Two large sofas’ and full size TV (plus large TV’s in each bedroom). Plenty of wardrobe and storage space. But the thing that sold it to us was the balcony, its HUGE! With views to die for. Don’t think we’ll ever get another hotel room balcony like this one again. Sat there every night watching the sun go down with a cold beer, memories we’ll keep forever. Had a quick look in a standard Cove suite and they are also finished to a high standard. Defiantly try and upgrade to a Cove suite if possible. The only down side the Cove suites is they are some distance from the main pools and palm restaurant which while is only a 5-8 minute walk it does involved small hills and steps. You can call for a golf buggy to pick you up and drop you off but you may have some wait? My calves certainly had a good workout! Didn’t look at the standard beach/pool side rooms but they looked nice from the outside and I think most have now been upgraded (think they were doing the last block during our stay) but you might want to check before booking?

The Pools were all great with plenty of sunbeds available (was very quiet during our stay though). Most days we had the pools to ourselves! And the beaches while small were nice with soft white sand and clear blue seas though not really clear enough for snorkelling during our stay. The beach sports guys were great and willing to help out on anything you wanted to try. One tip that I don’t think many knew about was the off shore reef. If you ask the beach guys they will arrange to take you out to this reef that is around a mile directly off shore. The waters here were very clear with lots of marine life on display. As good as if not better than the reefs many of the cruise boats will take you to. Just remember this is in open water so I’d only recommend very good swimmers. Also don’t forget to tip them for taking you out ;-) We did do a cruise around the island so got to see many other resorts while dropping people off and have to say Blue Waters just out shone all the others. Another tip is that there are 4+ of you and your looking at a island cruise its worth checking with the hotel for the cost of their own speed boat charter who will take you pretty much anywhere you want to go I guess? Think it was around us$650 but not sure how long that was for or if the price is correct but defiantly worth asking about as some trips for 4 adults can cost over us$650.

So did we enjoy our stay at Blue Water, you bet we did! Can’t find any real negatives or things to complain about just small improvements to keep the hotel moving forward. Was surprised that the room key was actually a key, thought most hotels used the swipe card system? So when your paying $2000 per night and your presented with your room key that’s got the cheapest plastic tag attached it doesn’t really set the right standard, come on guys get some nice Blue Waters key fobs. The evening entertainment was somewhat low-key affair, don’t expect to be partying away till the early hours, 10:30pm and that’s it. Some nights it was only us there listening to the live music. Clearly this is a check-in-chill-out resort, which suited us fine. After two days we were so laid back we were almost horizontal. Might be worth mentioning that most guests seemed to be from the UK, 75% maybe? In our opinion Blue Waters still has some way to go to met the service levels we’ve come to expect while traveling around the far east, however having spoken to fellow guest who have been to other hotels on Antigua and around the Caribbean they all said the same thing that Blue Waters was "the best hotel" in the Caribbean they’d stayed at, guess that speaks volumes.

Just a final massive thanks to all the Blue Waters staff, to many the mention by name but special thanks to Gwen and Mary, sorry for being so demanding ;-) all the staff from the cove and palm restaurants and anyone else we came into contact with including my main man who had to bring our very heavy suitcases up and down two flights of stairs! you were all wonderful.

Well can’t think of anything else to add but if you have any questions please feel free to drop me a message and I’ll do my best to answer it.

Room Tip: Cove suites are very nice and worth the upgrade. Block four is set back from the coast but imo looke...
