We stayed in one of elegant Cove Suites overlooking the ocean at Blue Waters from February 23 - March 2, 2014. Seven wonderful days at a quiet, intimate, lovely resort! Our suite had it's own private pool, but we loved to walk back and forth (or hop a ride on one of the golf carts driven by the staff) to and from the beach at Blue Waters (one day the owner's son stopped to offer us a ride!). The staff cannot do enough for you, they address you by name and are so kind. The landscaping and grounds are exquisite and we saw the same people each day tending to the various gorgeous flowers, shrubs and trees - always with a smile and a hello. The lobby and bathrooms are immaculate. The food is absolutely spectacular - every day a huge, delicious buffet for breakfast and lunch in addition to a fantastic ala carte menu. We always had an outstanding dinner at one of the three restaurants on the property. We met many wonderful people from the U.K. as there was a cricket tournament going on during our stay, and since we are Americans they took the time to teach us about the sport. The atmosphere was friendly and fun. We went into town to see the sites, and shopped, and took advantage of the gift shop at the hotel. We highly recommend Cove Suites at Blue Waters. You will love it!

Just returned from 10 days at Blue Waters. It was our first time in Antigua and we could not have chosen a better hotel. Staff were very attentive and genuinely cared about the service we received. It is difficult to mention individual staff but Pearl in the Pelican Bar deserves a big thank you as she looked after us so well and ran a well organised bar. (Thank you to Angela as well) We would like Andy (Manager) to consider Pearl when looking at staff for promotion. Also thank you to Carolyn who looked after us on the beach, particularly with the delicious strawberry and banana smoothies.

We had a great time on the Monterary boat for four hours with Owen and Irwin who looked after us so well and made sure that we saw lots of the island, particulary time spent on Bird Island and seeing the rare Racer Snake.

Food in all three restuarants was really good and in particular breakfasts were excellent with lots of choice. Would recommend going out to Hemingways in St Johns had the most delicious Lobster Thermidor. Housekeeping staff could not do enough and each day after spending time on the beach returned to lots of lovely towels to shower etc and then on returning in the evening our bed was turned down with more clean towels for the next morning. The rooms were great with lovely bathrooms.

Afternoon tea really needs to be looked at, and if they are going to offer this the hotel needs to look at what should be offered as afternoon tea. Not sure with all of the food offered during the day whether this is needed, but if continued the catering manager needs to consider upgrading this.

Thank you to Andy (General Manager) for running a well organised hotel and personally speaking to guests, and if you have any complaints don't wait until you write your review talk to him or any member of staff so that they can make changes.

A big thank to Andy and all of his staff for making our holiday a great one.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room that has been upgraded re bathrooms. We stayed in block 5 which was really...

We had a beachfront room, lovely to go to sleep with the sound of the waves, actually the whole place was lovely, location, food, service, staff - Pearl in the Pelican Bar stands out, staff remember your name and there are a lot of guests to remember. The whole thing was great only let down by the dress code not being applied at times.

Room Tip: We had 401 and 403- close to everything

We first went to Blue Waters in June 2012 and instantly fell in love with the hotel and island. So, when we decided to get married my fiancee (at the time) and I decided that Blue Waters would be the perfect venue for our wedding this February- this completely bucks the trend for us as we dont normally return to places we've already been to.
When we arrived at the hotel for our 2 week stay, we knew straightaway we had made the right decision. We were made to feel so welcome by everyone at the hotel and easily slid into the relaxed atmosphere in the resort. Much has been said about the high quality of all the services the hotel offers across the board - I can only reinforce this opinion. I would however, like to make a special mention to the people who guided us through our marriage celebrations on the 12th February 2014. If you are considering getting married at the hotel - please relax and enjoy the experience. We had complete trust in Mandie, who was exceptional in her duties as our Co-Ordinator and a credit to her employees. She pretty much took care of everything but handled it all in a very cool professional way and in such a manner that took away any wories we might initially have had.The whole experience was exceptional and we would have no doubts in returning to the hotel to elebrate an anniversary or two - but first, there's a big wide world out there and we intend to experience lots of it before returning to Blue Waters one day. But in the meantime, if you are thinking of going - please do, you won't be disappointed!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 101 - which is right at the end of the block nearest to the Water Sports Club. We...

Lovely small hotel with only 110 rooms approx. Staff were without exception all magnificent and could not have made the week we spent there any more comfortable. Managers were always having a chat and making sure everything was just so. 82% of the customers are British. The food is wonderful with plenty of choices and if you were taking children there was always something for them although it was mainly couples when we were there as the cricket was on, England v West Indies.

The hotel must be good we were staying with Sir Clive Lloyd, Ian Bishop, Wes Hall (famous legends of west Indies Cricket) and Brian Lara had dinner with them one night. There was a choice of two restaurants on the all inclusive plan and you could go to the third one and pay a little more, which we found no need to use in 7 days. The alcoholic drinks were served in abundance with many Western brands to choose from, the included red, white and rose wines were good Chilean and French, we found no need to use the wine list. This was unusual with other all inclusives we have been to that just serve local brands and poor wine, nothing like that here.

We stayed in a superior room , we wandered up to the top Cove Suites and I am certain if you could afford to stay there you would not be disappointed, the Villas looked incredible from the outside, will have to save up for next time there.

Watersports were included, sailing, wind surfing, kayaking, snorkeling gear. Lots to do outside the hotel if you wanted, I would say if it is your first time here the Pelican Tour was a great way to see the Island, there were numerous boat trips if that is what you like and as the Island is small the transfer times are short, with some picking up from the beach. It was only 15 minutes from the tiny airport ( building a new terminal now).

Only two minor faults, one was that our room was tired and in need of renovation, which we undertand they are in the process of carrying out as a lot of people has newly refurbished rooms, we had no reason to complain as it was still clean and spacious and they could not give everyone a newly renovated room, fair enough. We will request one when we go next time.

The Palms restaurant could also do more to keep birds out with nets or something similar, you could not leave you table unattended unless you wanted birds drinking and eating from your plates and glasses at breakfast and lunchtime, no problem in the evening. The food was all covered well but the serving spoons not so and birds were often sitting on them and eating off them, we took our own cutlery to use to put some foods on our plates.

It might be a good idea to not only feed the birds outside the restaurant ( which the Hotel did but not with enough food and not for long enough) this did keep them out to a certain extent. But a bird bath would be a good addition so the birds did not need to drink from the tables.

Beach is small but very, very clean and water fantastic, pools are also clean and great but we found the sea slightly warmer, you could go a long way out in your depth as well, some days I could walk out 50 metres into the sea. There was nearly always a nice breeze around, even into the night. Plenty of sun beds and shades, some people still put towels out early but unless you wanted a specific place there was no need. It was against hotel policy but was not enforced.

It is by no means cheap to stay here but we shall be going back.

Room Tip: Look at the map on line and try and get the room you want if possible, we had 806 at the back but if...

Beatifully located, a perfect blend of comfort, style and tranquility this is an outstanding hotel. We have just returned having stayed in a Cove Suite with my wife, 2 children and toddler. Cove Suites were perfect for a family as there are additional pools for each Cove House. Three separated beaches and one large pool, plus an adult pool, this works very well on different elevated levels. The size and layout is clever and increases the feeling of space, whilst everyone has a sea view. The gardens blooming with Bourganvillias and you could tell there was much dedication to the garden and trees. There are no motorised water sports touting themselves up the beach, which was a relief, and the Hobbie cat sailing and kayaking were excellent. The profile of the guests was predominantly English, newly weds, young families and then middle aged plus. So it had a civilised ambiance and was not noisy. Staff and guests alike were friendly, which is a reflection on it being a perfect sized hotel. Food and drink were first class. We will go back.
