“Bluewaters is a relaxing and beautiful place to stay.”
Reviewed February 25, 2013 via mobile

Bluewaters is an amazing hotel that has very friendly, welcoming and considerate staff. The food is great, with three different restaurants there is a lot of choice. The rooms are of excellent quality and the maids are wonderful. I would recommend bluewaters as a lovely place to stay.

We have just returned from a fabulous 6 day holiday at the Blue Waters Hotel in Antigua. From the moment we arrived we knew this was a special place,we were warmly greeted with a cold towel, and a refreshing rum,or fruit punch. We were escorted to our beach front deluxe room, which was lovely. After 10 or 15 minutes we had a phone call to see if everything was to our satisfaction, which it was.Our room had a stunning sea view, and a huge king size bed.
The hotel grounds are beautiful,a joy to walk round, very colourful, which attracts lots of birds. There is a choice of 3 pools as well as the aqua blue sea . there is also a choice of 3 restaurants, which should satisfy any ones taste. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble and its amazing how they can remember your name,it does make you feel special.
We did read lots of good reviews about this hotel, but it was above our expectations,a truly wonderful holiday in every way,and would love to return in the future.
A huge thank you to Anderson and all his staff at Blue Waters for giving us a holiday to remember.
Kind regards
Ron & Jan Hollis

Room Tip: A sea view is a must.

We were a week at this property and very much enjoyed our stay. There are about 100 rooms spread out across a picturesque bay. The park-like setting is beautifully maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful from first to last.

Our room was upgraded to one in the Cove Suites, and it was fantastic. Each of the three small buildings in this section has a private pool overlooking the Caribbean.

I believe all bookings come with breakfast included at The Palm restaurant, and the buffet is ample. Egg dishes are done to order and within a day of our arrival the staff recognized us and knew our preferences for coffee, tea, etc. Excellent training.

For other meals, The Palm is serviceable. An antipasto bar or soup for starters with a range of entrees done to order on most evenings. Then, a couple of nights of themed buffets.

Bartly's food is very good, although the indoor atmosphere feels confined. The Cove Restaurant (separately reviewed) has a platinum setting...and pot-metal food.

The beach is fine for swimming with a long sandy shelf, gentle breakers and not too much seaweed or coral underfoot. Hobie Cats, kayaks and paddle boats are available for guest use at no charge. Two swimming pools overlook the beach, and a third pool on the hillside is reserved for adults only.

We have only ourselves to blame for going in mid-February. The clientele at Blue Waters is mostly British, and their schools are out for a week or two at this time, Hence families travel with their children. Had we known, we'd have gone earlier or later.

The hotel is fantastic, and we highly recommend it. But, about Antigua, travelling around to other beaches and towns is made difficult by badly maintained roads that have very little signage. The few signs available are sun-faded to the point they can't be read without stopping. With such poor infrastructure, you'll mostly want to stay put wherever you book. Blue Waters is a good choice.

As a P.S., Le Bistro is a wonderful nearby restuarant (separately reviewed).

Room Tip: If budget permits, the Cove Suites are great.

I had the most amazing and relaxing holiday. Everything was perfect. First of all I would like to thank Andy, the General Manager. What a difference he has done - the staff looked so happy and relaxed but also very attentive. I congratulate Andy for making the hotel such a happy place again. He is approachable, kind and polite with a sense of humour. It was my 14th year back to Blue Waters and it is really like my second home. Everyone (the staff) who have been there a few years or even one year, just knew my face and name straight away. What a delight that is. The food is delicious and Roger was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I could go on mentioning all the staff names but they would go on forever. But I would like to mention Carolyn, Andre, Joe, Wingrove, Deerah and Tremaine who were so kind. My room in block 100 was extremely comfortable and just listening to the sea below at night is a good recipe for sleep! The refurbishment of the rooms and Palm Restaurant are excellent and just right as far as I am concerned. Congratulations Andy for making Blue Waters such a lovely place to say. I will be back. I wish I was right now! See you all soon.

Room Tip: Block 100 is lovely with the sea just below

We were here in July last year - sorry but only just discovered trip advisor.
This place is PARADISE - really could not ask for more. Food, the people, the beach , the watersports, the pools, the location the list goes on - i promise you will not be let down anywhere. We got a look round Rock Cottage - wow if we win the lottery thats where we will be off to - check it out on their website - what an amazing place. Thank you so much for looking after us all so well.

This is our second visit. The hotel is faultless. I know that people overstate how good/bad a place is but in this case I can honestly say that the Blue Waters is fabulous. The staff and service is first class. The water sports team are very helpful, ( thanks Owen, Roberts and the team). The new Chef is very very good and the standard of the food in all restaurants was very high . We were all inclusive and I think it was very good quality all round.

I know that the staff and management have put a lot of effort into the hotel and it is paying off.

We will be back as soon as we can.

Thank you all for a wonderful holiday

This was our first time to Antigua, we have stayed in many hotels around the world and this has to be one of our favourites. The staff are exceptional, the food is first class, the entertainment is good. Our beachfront room had the best view ever, so close to the sea, we could watch the hummingbird in the tree outside. The watersports staff are very friendly and helpful. The pools are great, maybe the exception being the adults pool that did not have a bar? The two other pools are amazing, but we would have liked one of these to be adult only as there were quite a few children around which sometimes spoilt the tranquil atmosphere. They had a steel band playing during Sunday brunch which was lovely as you could sit around the pool and listen and watch them as well. The Palm restaurant which serves buffet style food at breakfast and lunchtime has a menu for lunch as well as buffet style food. It has waiter service during the evening with excellent food. Our favourite restaurant was the Cove, the setting is beautiful and the menu is excellent. The nearby golf course is good, and very reasonably priced. St. Johns is worth a visit. We did a round the island boat trip which was excellent. We also visited Shirley Heights on Sunday evening to watch the sunset but found this too busy with tourists. We would definitely return and recommend it to anyone thinking of Antigua for a holiday.
