This holiday and hotel was fantastic. This was our first visit to a
Carribean destination and we are hooked!! The hotel was outstanding,
everything you could ask for and more!! The rooms were clean, towels
changed every day and smelt clean!! What people have said about them not
looking clean is wrong, they could have choosen a nicer colour but who
really cares about that when they are CLEAN!!!!

The staff at this hotel were out of this world, they really made the
holiday, Sonia at breakfast was such a lovely lady who really brightened
the place up and made beautiful omlettes!! Just one note, don't take you
own dishes back cause Bernadette will give you a row because its her job.

Zauda was incredible, she was determined to get my husband drunk all
holiday so I could have the upper hand with him. She was a scream!! Also
Nik was a gentleman!!

All the girls and Clifton in the evening were amazing, honestly the
staff there make the holiday so memorable!! I am a fussy eater but I put
weight on while on this holiday because the choice of food was
brilliant, something for every taste bud!!

Last but not least, you have got to have a taxi ride with Sonny, he is
an amazing gentleman who I would have loved to bring home with me!! He
told us things about the island that the organised tours don't.

Well we have been home one day and are already planning our return
holiday!!!

Have just returned from Coconut Beach Club today and am missing the place already. We found all the staff were very friendly and fun apart from one surly young girl who kept snorting all the time, which was not very pleasant when having a drink or eating breakfast. As for the hotel itself ,it was great and whoever complained about the colour of the bath towels must need their eyes testing they were whiter than white not that we cared so long as they were clean, bathroom could have had a little bit of updating and cleaned better but nothing to make a big deal over.
The only downside was very little seating or entertainment in the bar area at night but we had been warned about this so again not too much problem and the manager told us he was addressing this as other guests had told him the same. But as its such a small hotel you soon get chatting to the other guests . All in all a wonderful holiday and would certainly recommend it to people who just want to relax.

Arrived home completely relaxed after a wonderful holiday, this place is amazing if you need to get away from the world. We had a top(third) floor room, what a brilliant view over the beach across to St Johns Harbour entrance. We watched the cruise liners coming and going, even had a wave from a couple !
The room was spotless, cleaned every day, fresh towels every day, our bed linen was changed twice during our 14 days.
The staff were all very friendly and up for a bit of fun,a special mention for Zauda the barkeep,Clifton,Nikoai, Jahilda, Stuart, and Sonia, also the two waitresses at the evening meal.
We did not go on any organised trips, I felt they were overpriced.

If you want to go anywhere I can thoroughly recommend a taxi driver who is based at the hotel, just ask for SUNNY at reception,he is a real character and will not rip you off. He is a mine of information about the islands recent history and the local flora and fauna.
Shirley heights should not be missed on a Sunday evening, but the food up there is expensive. See Sunny he will wait till tou are ready to go back to the hotel !
We cannot wait to go back

We just got back from a weeks stay at the Coconut beach club hotel and absolutely loved it!

The transfer to the hotel was quick and hassle free and as soon as we turned up we were given a complimentary drink (yum!). Beautiful flowers were everywhere and even a humming bird showed up as we signed in! This hotel is set in its own bay with a gorgeous natural beach surrounded on each side with a small reef - not perfectly clear water due to the sand but still saw plenty of fish when snorkeling (hotel lends out the kit for free). Shame a lot of the reef is still dead though after the hurricane in 1995.

We had a ground floor junior suite which was huge and more than enough for us. The room was kept impeccably clean and the air con was a blessing at night! Only problem was that they kept taking the bath towels away to be cleaned every day, even when we didn't want them to be, so I wish people would stop making petty remarks about the colour of them!! They're clean - who cares what colour they are!

The food was excellent - plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and meat. The evening meal was superb - varied every night and tasted wonderful - although the wine was a little sweet for us, we discovered that if you ordered from the bar before you went to your table the staff would offer to re-fill for you whenever you needed! As for the staff - they were all lovely. Reading previous comments I got the feeling that it was going to be a case of 'you get back what you put in' and that was certainly the case with us. They really appreciate you asking them how their day is going you know? Even the slightly surly lady at breakfast would crack open a smile if you took the time to chat to her. We thought they were all lovely people. Now to the bar... what a happy place! I've never tasted so many wonderful cocktails - all of the staff were great creators, especially Nikolai, Jahilda and the legendary Zauda (just don't ask her for a long island iced tea...it will kill you!). But now I have a taste for daquiris that I can't shift...and the fruit punch is lovely.

Not that we spent the whole time at the bar! There are plenty of trips to go on (I'd recommend the treasure island cruises cades reef trip - was an excellent day! And we bought it from Frenchie on the beach - even though they tell you not to, he was a real character and no problem - god forbid any of the locals making a bit of money out of us!). But others that were at the resort went on many other trips and all had fun. We also went on a tour of the island - Shirley heights is spectacular, Nelsons Dockyard, English Harbour, St Johns, Betty's hope - all good places to see and plenty to do. The best trip was to Stingray city - absolutely fantastic! Sadly because of Steve Erwins recent demise, they've lost a lot of business which was really sad because these are non venomous Southern Rays and therefore pretty safe (as long as you heed the safety advice that is and don't tread on any!). Wonderful experience - those creatures are so graceful and gentle - they even have a pet hawksbill turtle there that they had to kick out of the enclosure as he got too big but still comes back at feeding time!

So... a wonderful holiday. There is plenty to do in Antigua but if you want to relax in perfect surroundings and do absolutely nothing you can do quite easily! The only thing that shocked me was the poverty in Antigua. Being a third world country, the people are very poor - most have no running water with several shacks living off one stand pipe and I felt quite guilty seeing how the locals live in contrast to the opulence of the tourist areas. It's easy to see how some of them might have issues with tourists so I'd advise anyone who goes just to keep that in mind!

We arrived at the hotel about 3pm and given a cocktail on arrival.
We were then taken straight to our room it was lovely it had a full kitchen not sure whey when it was a all inclusive hotel but maybe it was once a self catering hotel. All the rooms looked out on to the beach which was a no more than 10 seconds away.
First thing my husband noticed is that there was no TV! He was gutted but it was a blessing we never stayed in the room more than we had to.
Breakfast was lovely fresh fruit, muffins, sausages bacon and a lady who made everything you can think of with eggs.
Lunch changed every day from chicken and chips to tuna bake and salad, burgers, lasagna, fish, chicken, rice ect and lovely!
Dinner wasn’t too bad but we ate out most nights as we wanted to see most of the island.
I loved the Cove restaurant and sheer which is at the sister hotel Cocobay.
One thing about this hotel which will stand out from all the other hotels you have stayed in was how nice the staff are, always smiling and friendly. At the bar, day or night the barman or lady would always make you laugh and make any drink you wished. Manger of the Hotel Neil made you feel really welcome and so did the deputy manager Clifton.
As the hotel does not have many rooms you get to know everyone staying at the hotel and they were really pleasant and friendly and my husband and I didn’t want to go home.
