Food was awesome. Very difficult getting seating around pool or beach. Be very cautious when using the laundry service. Wrecked a 150.00 blouse. Brought back in bags not hangars. Returned blouse 4 days later with no explanation melted together. Handled hurricane and flight canceling terrible. Told us to pack and change rooms twice. Our room rate was 250 a night and as a thank you they charged me 400 for the extra night because our flight was cancelled. Lol Told us we had to check out 9 hours before flight departure the next day. Said the airline told them that but when airline staff was asked the said absolutely not. Also front desk never returned calls and were not very helpful at times. Having to call everyday because coffee was always forotten to be left in room. Unless you are using the butler suites service goes down hill. The sandals catamaran was awesome. Best part of trip. I understand this was slow season but expected more from our first trip with sandals. We travel 2-4 times a year. I am hoping the other resorts on other islands are much better as we might try sandals in the future.

Our first visit was to St Lucia for our weddingmoon and everything was perfect! For this visit we chose Antigua and really fell in love with the resort and the island!

Food - great visits at Marios, the pizza place, and Eleanors! Bayside was OK and Barefoot was a good lunch spot (we did not try dinner there). Pizza at the pizza place was incredible as was the lobster, coconut soup, and roti at Eleanors. Marios had great eggplant parm. We also chose Marios for our breakfast buffet spot most days. We did not go to Kimonos, sushi place, or OK Corral (due to time and scheduling on our part).

While at the resort restaurants, remember they are on island time so service and attention to refills, clearing plates, etc... can be slower.

Activities - we snorkeled (they allow 20 minutes for snorkeling once the boat got to the reef which was just fine) and rented jetskis from a vendor on the beach (so much fun!). We also windsurfed when conditions allowed at Sandals and at Jabberwock Beach (not associated with Sandals and paid for the equipment there). Finally, we did a couples massage which was wonderful and worth every penny!

We also took a taxi drive around the island and saw Betty's Hope Sugar Plantation, Devil's Bridge, Pineapple Beach, Nelson's Dockyards, and Shirley Heights Point. GREAT day - I recommend this if you wish to explore the island. Our taxi driver was great and we used him for three off resort excursions that we took.

Room - our room was clean and comfortable. No issues at all! The fridge was restocked every day except for two days of our six day visit.

Service - the staff was sooo friendly and helpful! We did get double charged for the week of internet use but it was removed upon checkout. Double checking the bill is helpful before you leave.

Room Tip: For more of a hotel feeling, stay in the Mediterranean tower. For more of an island/bungalow feel, stay on the Caribbean side. We stayed on the Mediterranean side - it was perfect! I do think we would have had a totally different Sandals experience if we stayed on the Carribean side. We have talked about staying in one of the bungalows on that side on our next visit. Also know that room service is not included in the Concierge level at this resort (not even coffee delivery) so if that is important to you, upgrade.

we just spent a week at this great resort. This is our 5th visit to a Sandals resort. 1st was in Cuba, then we wen to St. Lucia for the next three years. Antigua is our 5th. This is one of the nicest we've been at. Lots to do, beach was nice and clean, weather was great, even made friends with a resident cat! These "Sandals" people bend over backwards to please you, On to Jamaica next year! We'd come back for sure.

Room Tip: most rooms are nice, but unless its really loud, when you want quiet, I would not bother changing.

Antigua is a fantastic island, friendly and inviting. This is our 4th visit to Sandals, and it now feels like we are going home each time. The staff are so friendly and do all they can to ensure you have all you need to relax and enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: Caribbean Grove is now a little tired compared with the more recently built Mediteranean village. However, cleanliness and comfort is good in both.

Absolutely wonderful! Sandals Grande Antigua was the best vacation we have ever been on. It was our first Sandal's experience and will not be our last. Everything was great, amazing food, staff was exceptional, beautiful white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. It was a very relaxing vacation, when we arrived we were surprised to find that we received an upgraded room with concierge service. Pools are spectacular and the swim up bar has everything you could imagine. We actually booked our next trip to Beaches Ocho Rios so that we can take the children. Looking forward to our next vacation.
