The museum is in a historical building. It is one-room museum with limited artifacts, but described well the history of the island from geology, nature, and human habitat. I enjoyed visiting the museum to read everything of each exhibit. I think it is the most interesting place to visit in St. John except beaches.

You can walk to this museum from the port. It cost $3.00 to enter and it gives you a nice overview of the history of Antigua. I spent about 2 hours there, but I did read everything on each exhibit and took a look through the small gift shop. You could easily spend less time if you were in a hurry. I would recommend this if you are interested in history and looking for something to do within walking distance of the ship. It is nice and quiet and the information presented gives you a better understanding of the culture of the region.

Just dropped in while we were touring around downtown. Was very small (one room) and nominal fee. We spent about 25 minutes in total, but was good to learn some history of island and see some artifacts.

Small museum but so much information to read through. Worth a visit and will make you value Antigua even more.

There's a small fee to get into the museum but it's so worth it. You get to see pictures of what the island was compared to how it looks now. Many artifacts on display as well...there's also a huge statue in the heart of the market area that symbolizes the "father of the country" as the locals say on display .
