A must. Very good host and experience in teaching safety and control driving of a segway. Beautiful scenery, refreshments provided. They also take pictures and video which I just received and it was well done. This experience is fun and our group had a age range of 40 to 78 years of age.

We learned how to segway in Split, Croatia on a different cruise. This time we saw we could segway again in Antigua and couldn't wait for the experience. The ship did not offer this as an excursion but I saw other posts on TripAdvisor that it was available. We did all our advanced planning on the internet. This trip was nice because they accepted a credit card. We were met at the dock by a person on a segway. They loaded us into a taxi van and took us into the country to Miller Beach where they have their offices. There we watched a short video on safety. We were the only two out of the 8 on our tour that had driven segways before so the video was necessary to give information to the rookies. We got our helmets and elbow pads on and went out on the concrete porch to practice our moves. Everyone caught on quickly. We toured on hard packed dirt trails or two track car paths. We had a guide in the front that showed us the way and pointed out treacherous bumps and holes and another guide in the rear with a bullhorn to tell us the history or where we visited or to watch out for certain birds or trees and flowers. It was great to cruise along watching the birds she was pointing out and then finding out they were all one sex (female) because at this time of year there were babies on the nests on a neighboring island (Barbuda) and these birds were looking for food to feed the little ones. We also cruised past a pasture with lots of horses including a newborn. We went to Fort James and realized that it is vegetation overgrowing a few walls that you can just make out to be former outer walls and a building with no roof that used to house a couple of solders. There are some cannon there that used to fire upon unsuspecting ships that didn't pay the toll to sail close to shore. We heard some quite interesting history of the area. We were also given a fruit kebob, sugar cane to chew and some water. Then we were taken to a place where we could just cruise around on our own and see how fast we could go or practice with turns or just play around on the segways. We were warned not to go into the deep sand of the beach (but, of course, one person tried it and promptly went down). Then we cruised back to the office and turned in our machines, helmets and elbow gear.
Then we were given an hour on the beach at the neighboring beach before the taxi came to take us back to the ship. The beach was beautiful and the water was great. We were glad we wore bathing suits under our shorts.

Our experience wih the Segway Antigua tour was fabulous! My husband thought it was the best of our experiences on our recent Royal Carribbean cruise to the West Indies.

The tour guides were extremely safety conscience of the group. I was the only one with previous experience but the others caught on quickly enough to risk being unsafe in operating the machines. They are fairly easy to adapt to normal operations but can easily get away from you as some learned on the trip as they felt ready to go off on their own.

My advice is to take it slowly and just enjoy the scenery and fun of riding. Thanks so much for a great day to the family that run this attraction on Antiqua!

On a recent Princess cruise we looked forward our stop in Antigua. I surprised a cherished friend by celebrating her 60th. birthday on a Segway tour. I made advanced reservations online and check-in was flawless. Juliette sent us some great photo's along with a video of our Segway journey. Thank you so much for an exciting and wonderfully memorable time. Jess, Chris, Judy & Holly
