The restaurant has a beautiful location right on the beach. The staff was efficient but not overly friendly even though most of the tables were empty. The food was good but we didn't think it was worth the money. We like OJ in the southern part of the island much more--good food and lower cost and nice location

We were told by a few locals and tour guide books alike that we would LOVE Coconut Grove Restaurant. I did read some unfavorable reviews online, but they were mixed with rave reviews.

Who knows??? Perhaps the real chef was absent the night we dined (June 4th,2013) We did want to love it. We did enjoy our rum punch, cocktails, and morning coffee throughout the week., As we were guests of the Siboney Beach Club. However, we had a very overpriced dinner that was marginal at best.
Let me elaborate...
We mistakenly went to Coconut Grove on a Tuesday night...isn't there a rule that you shouldn't get seafood on a Tuesday?! Perhaps we should've waited until Friday!?!?!

Our server, a honest woman, told us that the "catch of the day" wasn't even caught that day... You know, because the boats don't come in EVERY day. It's slow season and all, but seriously? This is a seafood restaurant on a beach!

Upon scanning the appetizers, we ordered the coconut shrimp. Bad idea. It was breaded with a super thick batter, over fried, and not worth the huge price tag that was attached to it ($30 EC)

Worse yet, was my entree of shrimp with pineapple/pumpkin sauce and rice with veggies. Our rice was clearly water-logged 'minute rice,' the veggies were grossly over-steamed, and the sauce over the shrimp tasted like "La-Choy" store-bought Chinese sauce that you pour over homemade stir fry.

My husband and I thought of sending back the entrees, but our server warned us the seafood wasn't all that fresh and at that the shrimp was imported, so in fairness we felt that we should have ordered the pork or something non-seafood.

Still, after 8 days of dining all around the island, this was our least favorite, most overpriced meal.

Started overcooked, main course excellent, found it to be a bit pricy. Service excellent in evening, little less so in afternoons and morning. All outside chairs were stacked up, very little shade in afternoons.

I think the title says it all. It is very convenient to Antigua Village, you are on the beach, but after eating there twice, I would only go back for drinks. I tried the seafood chowder which wasn't very memorable and tasted mostly of potatoes. The baby octopus was not very good at all. The salads were OK, but the place is a bit pricey and for what you end up eating, it is overpriced. We had a piece of cheese cake the first night which was OK but how do you mess that up. The bar, however, was fun. Seems like always interesting people. Make sure you use bug spray on your legs because you get eaten up.

Had a wonderful outing at this restaurant. The food was great and most of all the service was excellent.
