Description: La Bussola have relocated to the site of the old Tides Restaurant on the beachfront at Dutchman's Bay. You will not be disappointed by this versatile venue offering a welcoming dining room with plenty of character and charm, two breezy, open-plan verandahs, with relaxed seating areas all surrounded by lush tropical gardens set against an Atlantic Ocean backdrop. Family-run by brothers, Chef Omar and Host Cristian Tagliaventi who grew up in the Umbrian countryside of Italy. Their passion ensures every dish is prepared with the spirit of authentic Italian cooking and culture. La Bussola serves only the finest meats and seafood, freshest vegetables, and bread that is baked daily on the premises. The good value à la carte lunch and dinner menus mix tradition with innovation. Classic Calamari with homemade Marina sauce, Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio with fresh spinach and Parmesan and Beef Scaloppini with lemon sauce sit side by side with Caribbean inspired Lionfish fillet with cherry tomatoes and Lobster Thermidor. They are the first restaurant in Antigua to have lionfish on the menu year round. The informal pizza menu served for lunch and dinner continues to win many fans who repeatedly tuck into thin and crispy, hand-stretched, stonebaked Italian pizzas and calzones. Amongst guests favourites are the Badia topped with grilled chicken, sweet peppers and garlic sauce and the meat-eaters paradise The Spada - topped with ham, pepperoni, Italian sausage and chicken. With a fantastic, fun atmosphere, the bar at La Bussola is second to none. It possesses one of Antigua's largest bar collections, with of over 300 spirits and liqueurs from all around the world. Not to be outdone, their cosmopolitan wine list features over 100 wines, champagnes and sparkling wines specialising in a diverse regional range from Italy. The new restaurant is the perfect location for private events, corporate parties, and intimate social gatherings with functional seating arrangements which can accommodate up to 100 persons. The friendly team await your visit soon

La Bussola has a very inspired italian menu right by a superb beach location, weather motivated for the best pizza with the family on the island or an exceptional tête-à-tête romantic dinner, we are highly recommending this friendly and outstanding place.

We have spent the past week in Antigua and have had a great time!

La Bussola is a MUST MISS restaurant!

La Bussola came recommended, and we started off with a good experience - however things QUICKLY deteriorated. Appetizers were AVERAGE at best, with the soup tasting like it was fresh from the PROGRESSO can!

Dinner started off better with some tasty gnocchi for the kids and penne bolognese and a veal dish for the wife and me. Then...... My son's pizza never arrived. We asked and we asked and they kept saying it was on its way - then we realized that they hadn't even thrown it into the brick oven yet! Another 20 minutes went by. Owner told us he was from Italy and he doesn't cook fast food at his restaurant. OWNER completely clueless. We are new Yorkers and have dined out a million times - and know that a pizza 30 minutes after main courses arrived is a forgotten pizza by the waitress or chef!!

Owner came over again after we bickered and we all had finished our main courses and my poor 12 year sat there meal-less and starving. The owner - rather than starting with an apology - told us that we need to understand all his food is cooked fresh...hence the 30 minute time delay since the other main courses had arrived. Hmmmm. If all the food is fresh and we ordered more than an hour ago, wouldn't the gnocchi, penne and veal also have to be cooked fresh? It takes a while to make pasta!

Ahhh. Another 10 minutes goes by and a pizza arrives. Argggggh..... it's a pepperoni pizza - not the Italian sausage pie my son ordered!!

Owner was RUDE! Could barely apologize. Restaurant was 3/4 empty at the peak of
Xmas season. He'd better quickly get with the program or watch his restaurant submerge into the ocean.

We were hopeful for a good meal when we walked in -- and it was NOT!

La Bussola is a PASS!!! Pass pass pass!! Take our advice!!

Go to Bay House at the Tide Water hotel. It's closer, though not as "fancy" - but FOOD, Service and atmosphere were all FAR BETTER!!

As soon as we walked in, we treated with a warm welcome.
The restaurant is a great layout with a beautiful view of Runaway Bay.
Everything was very clean and service was outstanding.

In regards to the food, I can't say enough.
Absolutely amazing flavours in all the meals we had.
Lobster to lasagna. Every time we were treated with great dishes.
The lasagna was my favorite. The best I have ever had.
Pizza made by Saer in a brick oven is a must!
We ate there about 5 times there. We stayed just next door at the Barrymore Beach Club.

The atmosphere was superb. I'm very sure that we have found some great friend by just eating dinner. People and food go hand on hand. At this place the food tasted that much better because we got to know the staff.
Christian, Michael, Saer and Omar.
What a great group of people.
Our trip to Antigua would have never been the same.

I highly recommend going there for dinner.
Prices are reasonable as well.

Absolutely fantastic!

Stayed at Barrymore Beach club in November 12 and visited La Bussola restaurant next door. I think we probably went about 5 times! Each time the food was delicious. This is one of the best restaurants we have been to and can compare it to Champers in Barbados. The staff particularly Michael and Christian were excellent and provided exceptional and friendly service. We were even given a gift of a bottle of the local rum on our last evening there! We would like to thank Christian very much for this gift. Managed to get it back to England without breaking it and will be enjoying it over Christmas! We can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
