I loaded the family up in a cab and we took a drive. In reading some other reviews, they talk about bad roads and bad facilities. Well it is not disneyworld. It's a developing country and the attraction isn't built for comfort. Its to go and see the stringrays. People that have negativity commented about rain going to the site, not getting there on time do to bad taxi's. That is there own fault. Plan. As for the negative potential consequences from getting a "Stingray Hickey". They warn you of it.
They do not advertise great snorkeling, they advertise snorkeling. You are going to see Sting ray in the wild, and its the craziest thing. You step off a dock in the middle of ocean in 3 feet of water and you are part of there bumper activities. It is the wildest thing. You put the googles on and face in the water and they are gorgeous. I have heard people talk about swimming with the dolphins, this is what it is like.
My kids are 12, 10 and 7. The two older ones were scared at first, but the staff calmed them through the process. Before to long they holding. Yes, part of the deal was take you picture with the Sting Ray, but if you brought your own camera, you could use that to take pictures. Very accomendating. The part that was the best, these were wild sting rays. Yes they knew to come in because they were fed, but when done, they went on their way.
We explored most of the fenced in area. There were fish, color and reef. Shallower water and 8 foot deep water. My whole group could snorkel at their own pace.
So no its not easy to get to. No it not 5 star facilities but most definitely would go back.
