Park your car on the side of the road, order your food under the tent, tasty BBQ for around $7 a person. How can you beat that? Use the local BBQ sauce too, not the Kraft stuff.

This was some of the very best barbecue I've ever eaten. Down to earth, lovely people, great food at an incredible price. What else can you say?

Ken's ribs, or infamous ribs, I should say, stand out in the island for sure. Not your usual BBQ ribs you would get in the south of the USA. More grilled perfectly and tastes even better with his homemade sauce. Ken's is only open, under a large tent, on the north-east corner across from the People's market.

It is not a restaurant, its a food stand. There is no problem if you want to go there and stand and eat as many do, but there is no tables, no service. This is good old street food at its best.

When we go to Anguilla we usually rent a house. On a friday or Saturday, we go to Ken's, we take a foil pan and some tin-foil and order our ribs and chicken. If its just the two of use, just foil will do. One rack of ribs is more than enough for one person. If you are going to have the chicken too, which is fantastic, one piece of chicken and half-rack is fine. The ribs are not "fall of the bone", its not the style of the island. They are grilled and you need to work a bit at them, they are tender, just not slow cooked all day.

Make your order, there seems to be a pecking order, so just butt you way in there and order, (Be nice about it). If you plan on taking the ribs home to eat, ask them NOT to cut the rubs up and place the ribs and chicken in the foil or the pans and cover with the sauce you will find in a non-labeled dispenser to the left of the ordering place. The sauce is quite sweet and tangy so perhaps taste it first to decide how much you want to put on.

We usually go there in the early afternoon, pick up the ribs and then re-heat them, sealed, non-diirect on the Gas BBQ or in the oven at 300 for 30mins.

Don't forget Johnny Cakes, at a $1 a piece, well worth it and they add a nice starch to the meal. They are not greasy at all. I warm the directly on the BBQ Grill right before we eat, or in the oven for 10 mins wrapped in foil.

Stop at Fat Cat (In the Lake's Parking lot) at pick up a couple of salads and you are good to go. The salads are expensive at Fat Cat, but you didn't lift a finger to make them and you have completed your meal.

Ken's: Is what it is: Good old street food, enjoyed by locals. If the locals didn't go there, I would not go there.

Don't forget to say hello to Ken, he's the guys wearing the "Ken's" Hat working the grills.

Ken's pork is located in the Valley, under a white tent, across from the People's market. He is there Friday and Saturdays. The BBQ is amazing. We picked up ribs and chicken and johnny cakes on our way back from the beach. We took our own pan, did not have them cut the ribs, and took them back to the villa for dinner. We had a small container for the home-made BBQ sauce. We warmed the ribs, chicken and cakes in the oven. They are totally yummy. We covered the ribs and chicken with the BBQ sauce and served with a simple green salad. I recommend one rack per two people. You can also have the ribs in individual take-out containers.
