“Everything you hoped and wished for in italian food!”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

First of all, we stayed at Casale Villarena. Amazing. The food is outstanding.my fussy 8 year old lives on chicken goujons... chips... etc. he happily tucked into Pasta Zuccini as a starter followed by lemon veal. we were fighting for our share of the pasta starter. we have since enjoyed many local dishes, including home made pizza which I had fun making myself. Beautiful food made all the better by Guillimo and his staff.

“Hilltop dining”
Reviewed August 25, 2012 via mobile

This is a great place situated in the picturesque hilltop town of Nerano. Set in a terraced lemon grove overlooking the Med makes for a calm and relaxing ambiance. We dined here twice during our week in and around Nerano. The guys who run the place are amazingly hospitable and we admire their creativity in providing a diversity of dining and entertainment experiences - we were lucky enough to join them for their inaugural hot coal summer BBQ which made a nice change from traditional fare we'd eaten throughout the preceding 10 days. It doesn't pretend to be fine dining, so expect basic fare and a decent wine list at reasonable prices - which is what makes it family friendly. If you're staying nearby but not within walking distance, the guys will pick you up and drop you home.

“Fresh local ingredients in scented lemon grove”
Reviewed May 10, 2012

We had a lovely lunch among the lemon trees here last week after completing a walk from Nerano to the promontory tip and back. We dropped in on the offchance, midweek, and were made very welcome.
Excellent seafood, and my artichoke and sausage penne pasta was delightful. The owner dropped round to see us briefly and confirmed that much of the food is grown on their own property.
Thoroughly recommended - the rooms and small pool look nice too.

“Fantastic place to stay - wonderful restaurant! Highly Recommended”
Reviewed March 20, 2012

I visited Casale Villarena with my wife and daughter on the recommendation of a travel agent. We had a fantastic holiday and found this to be a brilliant location. The appartment was lovely with a balcony and views out to the bay. All of the staff were fantastic and could not do enough to help. Guglielmo, the owner, goes out of his way to ensure you have a great time and helped us to plan days out. The hospitality included lifts, arranging a celebration for my daughter's Birthday and lots of other help. There is an on-site restaurant and we found the food to be wonderful - so much so that we eat there every night. The views over the bay from the restaurant as the sun goes down were just great. We were at Casale Villarena for the Ferragusto holiday and took part in a big celebration meal with many of Guglielmo's friends and family - the atmosphere was great and we were made to feel really welcome. The whole location is good - private, quiet, historic and you are surrounded by trees covered with lemons - what more could you want. It's a very handy location for visting the Amaslfi coast, Capri, Pompei and Sorrento with good connections by bus and boat. The guidance suggests you should state what you like least - to be honest for us this was hard to fault. My only comment is that if you want nightlubs, and bars this is not the place - it's brilliant for a relaxed holiday. We will be back!

“Delicious, authentic Italian food and friendly service”
Reviewed August 28, 2011

If you want authentic, home-made food with local ingredients, this is the place. The proprietor makes everything in-house using only locally-produced ingredients - resulting in fresh and delicious food. The setting is lovely either in the warm interior, or outside under the lemon trees. Many locals dine there and there is a place for kids to play, or the owner sometimes puts on a movie for the kids while you enjoy a finishing limoncello produced in-house. Highly recommended!
