We started looking for wedding locations a long time ago just by doing an internet search. This was one of the many places that popped up in South Wales. We decided to check it out by eating there first. As soon as we walked in to the reception/bar it became apparent that this place was special. The service and welcome was very personal and warm. Then the food, simply put, STUNNING! Amanda, Lorraine and their team are absolutely amazing, they have a passion for food and wine that comes across in the food. You will not find a finer steak anywhere else.

This sealed the deal and we decided to see about getting married at Jabajak. The date was free so we booked up immediately. Their expertise and professionalism made the planning process a doddle with the hardest decision to make was what to include on the menu.

The big day arrived and neither my wife to be or myself had to worry about anything. Amanda and Lorraine liaised with the registrar, best man and bridesmaids to ensure everything ran like clockwork.

Guests commented on the wonderful location, the amazing service and the quality of the food. This was even more impressive as they were cooking for 52 people once including vegetarians, vegans and a couple of toddlers.

I can honestly say that we were looked after like royalty and would recommend Jabajak to anyone for a romantic meal or a big celebration, they can do it all.

Thank you for all your hard work.

Well, what can we say?...It's always been a massive pleasure welcoming you to Jabajak (especially on your wedding day), and we very much hope you won't be strangers. You certainly love and appreciate good food - as do we - and we were delighted that you enjoyed your special day so much. See you soon, we hope! xx

My wife and I stayed here on the 24th August for our anniversary. (Rose Room)
The Vineyard grounds are set in stunning Welsh countryside and the restaurant and accommodation are beautifully presented.
The food was excellent, superb in fact. They do the most delicious sirloin steak I've ever tasted and the scallops are a must!!!
It goes without saying that there's a multitude of wines and champagnes on offer, enough to please every palate.
The only downside is that the basic rooms are not quite as well soundproofed as I would have liked but the exceptional service and friendly owners/staff make this a real treat away from home. If you want to guarantee an undisturbed nights sleep i guess the suites would be a great option.

All the best with 'Four in a Bed'
All in all highly recommended

Room Tip: Go for one of the Suites to Guarantee an undisturbed nights sleep!

Many thanks for posting, and for your understanding! I believe we were absolutely full on the evening you stayed, and if we hadn't, we would have been delighted to upgrade you to a suite, which is something we often do on quieter nights if possible. We'd love to see you again - and if an upgrade is possible, it would be our pleasure to do so. Thanks again.

We stayed here 5 years ago and because we found the food in the restaurant "to die for" we decided to go here again. On arrival we were informed that they are refurbishing so we got an upgrade on the room wich was a pleasant surprise. The room we got was not even refurbished yet, it was very spacious and clean the bathroom was also good , even with a spa bath. While going to dinner the first night we were informed that the restaurant would be closed the next night for refurbising. The staff told us he would help us with finding an alternative location to eat in the neighbourhood. The restaurant being closed was a big dissapointment for us because eating there was one of the main reasons for us to stay at Jabajak. Since it is located "in the middle of nowhere" we decided then and there that we would not stay for another night wich we had actually booked. We talked about this with the staff and they understood and were quite acommodating about it. Would love to go there again some other time but only if we are sure that we could have dinner in the restaurant every night of our stay. If for what ever reason the restaurant is closed we think they should inform guests beforehand.

On a final note: we can recommend the Jabajak, the dinner is very good and the rooms are pleasant.

Many thanks for your review - and we were very sorry to hear that you felt you had to move on from Jabajak because you were unable to eat in the restaurant on every night you had booked accommodation. As we are a family business, we really do care about our customers' comfort, and we really do try to manage our 'down' days for the restaurant very carefully indeed. Normally, we try to be open on every night when there are residents in, and we allocate a no-obligation table to residents automatically. Off season, this isn't a problem. However, it's been a long busy summer, and we needed a full day to do some important work. We deliberately timed our shutdown for an occasion when we knew guests were staying for more than one night, and might want to go elsewhere on the second evening - as is often the case. However, this didn't suit you and we're sorry this impacted on your enjoyment. We hope this doesn't deter you from visiting us again. In future, we'll try to give more notice. Thanks also for the positive feedback.

I was taken here by my wife for my special birthday. We were a little, how shall I say "fingers crossed" about the whole place but we should not have been. We stayed in the garden room and it was very a pleasant room with a lovely view. A little weird lying in bed looking out at the garden with people having the possibility of seeing in. No problem with this as no-one walks by anyway. One small point is that the side window looks onto the bar door and so you REALLY NEED to have those curtains closed all the time! We were the first people to use the renovated shower room and the staff were asking if we were happy. They seemed quite concerned that all was ok - no need to worry as it was great. I love having a shower in a space where I can swing a proverbial cat.
I am not going to write a long review about the evening meal because the food was absolutely excellent and could not be faulted. A little expensive, even for this quality, but perfect in every way. Why expensive? - I just consider £30 for a steak to be right at the top end of the budget. Great steak though and possible one of the best I've ever tasted...anywhere in the world.
Breakfast was also spot-on.
In summary definitely recommend this place and will be going back.
One final note to the owners who were absent during our visit - you can relax with the guys who were left holding the fort. They did a great job and were looking after your interests perfectly.

Room Tip: Garden room carries a supplement but is worth it.

Many thanks - we're delighted you were pleasantly surprised, and that you enjoyed our Garden Room (which we love) and the food so much. We're pleased to say that we do get overwhelmingly lovely feedback about our steak, which is Celtic Pride fillet. By the price quoted, we assume you chose the 10 oz, with one of our specially prepared sauces. But for the benefit of those who might wish to taste the steak in smaller portions, we do offer a smaller cut - as well as a range of dishes at lower prices - and we're always happy to email out a menu to enquirers, so that they are aware of our prices. Thanks also for your comments about our staff, of whom we are very proud indeed.

Our daughter had her wedding here last weekend and what a brilliant weekend we had. The venue is outstanding. A beautiful property set in rolling vineyards with breath taking views. We were looking for something a little different and decided to have the wedding in a tipi, the first held at Jabajak. The setting was spectacular with the tipi set between two vineyards on a beautiful lawned area with views across a pond to the valley below in the distance. The owner, Amanda was so incredibly helpful in the build up to the big day, so calm and practical and no query or problem was too much for her. Her staff were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We felt as though Jabajak was "our home" for the weekend, the "Jabajak team" our family being there and offering to help out, make a cuppa, whatever they felt was required at the time. The rooms and food are of a very high standard so we had all the comfort of feeling "at home" but the food, service and accommodation of a 5* retreat! A wonderful wedding at an amazing venue. Thanks Jabajak for making this very special time that bit extra special. couldn't have done it without you.

Many thanks for taking the time to post this fabulous review. It was an absolute pleasure to have the tipi on site (it looked amazing!) and to look after the extended family and friends. Weddings are always special occasions for us at Jabajak, as we tend to get to know brides and grooms pretty well during the planning process. The fun you all brought to this joyful event made it extra special. We very much hope to see you at Jabajak in the future.
