This is the second time we have been here for meals and each meal has been lovely. The landlord was very welcoming and the food was nice and hot, the staff came and checked that our food was good. So will definitely be going back again. Thank you

Visited evening time for a celebration meal, approx 10 people seated in back room which tended to be a little cold for the older ones although they did have small fan type eaters.
The food was hot and good sized portions-One of the party had a chicken which was slightly undercooked, but to be fair the staff were very prompt in dealing with the matter and offered anything off the menu in replacement and offered the item free of charge.
I thought that the service was excellent and overall I would recommend this pub restaurant for a good reasonably priced evening or daytime meal.

We were made to feel very welcome from all of the staff and the proprieter David. The two young women and the guys, David's sons, were so friendly. Everything was perfect. The beer was great as was the food. The room was lovely, well appointed and quiet, with tea and coffee and TV. The only thing missing was a hairdryer, so just a minor thing. The cooked breakfast the next morning was fantastic. So all positive, highly recommended and many thanks.

Visited this place on Saturday lunchtime because we will be moving into the area soon and were hoping this would become our local. Soooo glad we are going there because it will be now.
Fantastic welcome, great food - must try the chips! Never thought I would be waxing lyrical about chips for God's sake but they are up there!!!
Great choice of beers and other drinks. Landlord and young lad serving were very attentive and welcoming but not overbearing.
Only wish the fish hadn't run out because I wanted to try the whale of a fish, but that just gives us an excuse to go again!!!!!
Thoroughly recommend to anyone to visit.

Had dinner last night here and it was very nice. Good portion, good service, good atmosphere everytime we dine. Will be back. We do find the evening menu slightly over priced but not ridiculous. Lunch is also very good here and priced better. Again nice pub food not a la carte

Have had a few meals here lately and we can say with confidence that each time they have been excellent. My wife adores the cheese bites to start and also enjoys the Whale of a Fish, but beware, this is a big piece of fish! You must have it with the amazing homemade chips.

We haven't tried every meal, but what we have were delicious. The main menu is served alongside the lunch menu from 12pm so you have plenty of choice. Not forgetting the Specials Board which is always worth a look. Meals are served all day, so you can pop in at anytime, which takes away the worry of where to eat outside of the normal 12pm - 2pm hours of other restaurants. Pop in anytime! I'm not sure what time the lunch menu stops, but you always have the main/evening menu.

The staff are friendly, efficient and hard working. The bar has 3 real ales on at all times and these are very well kept, which is a very important aspect for me. Being a 'fussy' drinker according to my friends, this is indeed a compliment! I stick to drinking two of my favourite ales in Reverend James & London Pride. The third ale is kept as a guest ale, so is always changing if you wanted to try something different. There is bottled and draught cider available as well as a choice of lager. Guiness is also on tap. Wine by the glass or bottle is available.

There is a very popular quiz night every Thursday with cash prizes and also a fun and interactive game of 'Play Your Cards Right' to end the night. The quiz starts at 9pm, so this doesn't affect people dining.

In the summer there is a lovely large garden and patio area to the rear of the premises. I can't comment on the B&B as I have never used it, but I believe there are about 5 recently refurbished ensuite rooms.

If you haven't tried, it is well worth a visit, whether for a meal or a few drinks.
