We have visited the newly opened Gate a couple of times for dinner. Each time we have been given a really warm and friendly welcome. The menu choice is excellent. The belly pork dish on the menu is superb, mustard mash, beautifully cooked lean belly pork, black pudding, apple ring and crackling all placed as a tower in the centre of a deep plate. The desert of creme brûlée served with short bread ( both home made) is the best I've ever tasted. Sunday lunch here is also delicious, with a choice of meats and fresh veg. Service is excellent, staff are lovely. Ambience in both the bar and restaurant are perfect. Keep up the good work. Hope to revisit very soon
