We have just got back from an overnight stay in The Parkway, the hotel is very pleasant, the rooms are dated and the tv in our room came out of the ark, now we don't go away to watch the tv but if there is one we will turn it on whilst in the room, the one in our room was clearly on it's way out very interesting assortment of colours across the screen and the peoples faces were predominantley green! This was reported and on returning from breakfast we found a maintenance man in our room who told us there was no problem with our lights we weren't using the correct switches? when he consulted his book he realised he should have been checking the tv, he said he would deal with it, I wonder how many times that has been said?
The carvery we had was very good but spoilt by overly salty gravy and the breakfast again a good selection but plastic sausages and cheap catering bacon not what is expected of a 4 star hotel.
On returning to the bar area and using a table we had vacated some 90 minutes earlier we were surprised to find reamins of our afternoon tea still on the table and the floor. (Cress and lettuce)
The pool is good but the changing rooms very small and drab and the shower by the jacuuzi was out of order.
We had our booking at a special price and for what we paid we were more than happy but if we had paid full price we wouldn't have been quite so happy also if you are used to 4 star accomodation be warned we have stayed in a lot better.
