This is the most amazing site you can see in our area, angel of our valley and a very fitting tribute to those that lost their lives. I would recommend a visit to the most beautiful memorial that i have ever seen.

“Memorable monument”
Reviewed April 9, 2014

Guardian is hidden deep in the Six Bells Valley. Have been many times but it never fails to take your breath away. Ty Ebbw Fach Heritage Centre is close by with personal stories and photographs. The cafe is open most days and has good snacks and meals. Plenty of parking space and room for children and dogs to run around. Easy access to the Ebbw Fach cycle/walking path which extends from Brynmawr to Llanhilleth. Really enjoyable visit.

“Well worth a vist!”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

Visited the Guardian - Six Bells, Wales, today. The Memorial is a very moving, powerful reminder of workers whose lives were lost in a mining accident. So Tragic.
Good (free) car park. Really friendly staff at the Cafe over the road, serving excellent food. Good homemade food. Chicken curry, rice and chips less than a fiver. Cakes, drinks etc all good. Well worth the trip, but next time hope for better weather so we can take advantage of the nature reserve.

“Six Bells Guardian”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

Visited the site of the statue commemorating the mining disaster in the 1960's. This statue is a truly moving reminder of the hazards and dangers of extracting coal from the bowels of the earth, my wife and I were there with relatives on the 20/10/13. The statue is a sombre and poignant piece of sculpture that is in fitting with what it is supposed to be commemorating, I am glad that I saw it and its apparent transparency in its construction
