Nice old town of Tarxien and the family was very warm and kind. The house is a characteristic maltese. Breakfast is excellent with various sorts of homemade jam. Frank is very nice host to talk to. Would go again

We booked a room with a shared bathroom as it appeared on booking.com like it would have a patio or outside space with it, after all, patio is not mentioned on their other rooms on the same site, but it is with this room. It was disappointing not to have associated outside space, perhaps it meant the central courtyard on the ground floor attached to the dining room. The overall atmosphere was welcoming and homey despite the following comments which may seem a little negative.
We only stayed for one night, but I still would have appreciated being shown where things were, like which rooms were for public use. The hosts were friendly, although Frank talked at us for about half an hour about his negative experiences with certain previous guests and commented almost to the point of rudeness on my home town and its people. Chiara is very nice and enthusiastic about her business and her family in equal measure. They gave us a good recomendtion for dinner. We went to bed around 9 pm, having been travelling since 3 am, but there was a party on the roof which was very loud even with the windows shut and was followed by someone running around with the children squealing in delight around 11:30 pm! The party did finish around then too, but it would have been nice to be warned in advance that there was no point trying to sleep til after they were finished. I have the feeling that they would have invited us too if we had been there longer or when guests started to arrive.
Breakfast was fine, with coffee, bread ham and cheese and some really lovely jam, I would have bought some if I had remembered in the morning. Conversation with other guests was good and Frank's conversation was much more pleasant. If I was staying in Tarxien for longer, I probably would stay here again as I think getting to know this family would be great despite a bit of a rough start.
PS The I met three of the children and they are are charming and polite

Spent one week with very warm family in lovely b'n'b, beautifully decorated and comfortable in summer thanks to its thick stone walls (and AC on request). Delicious breakfasts from friendly and talkative Chiara. Home-made food, including for dinner (as an option). Very helpful husband and very pleasant children too. We really enjoyed it!

My sister and I enjoyed our stay very much. It was a treat to be immersed in a family situation with guests from many countries. The house is interesting and comfortable, although we did go for the optional air conditioning after a couple of nights in July. I would caution people to be up front with the proprietors about any problem with climbing stairs.

The room is nice and clean, the hosts are very nice. The room, the furniture and the environment is specific to Malta, the bus stops are nearby. I recommend this place for those who like homely atmosphere. The breakfast is delicious, Frank and Chiara are very helpful.

We found this place to visit the southern part of Malta and we got it as was convenient from a price point of view. Our room at upper floor had a nice balcony. only inconvenience can be the bath down the stairs, but not blocking point. Chiara and Frank are very nice and friendly and even it is a big family with small kids it is nice to see that this is not an obstacle for Chiara to be a smart guest and entrepreneur.
We choose this location not to be in an anonymous hotel but to have a feeling of real life in Malta.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Burrow a few months ago while in Malta for a work project. During the two weeks I was there, the owners, Chiara and Frank, were very accommodating. It was also very nice to come back there after very long working days to a welcoming environment, good home-cooked food, and fun and lively family. Definitely worth staying with them if you are visiting Malta for any reason.
