“Inspiring”

Ranked #2 of 2 things to do in Gilsland
Attraction details
Reviewed January 3, 2012

This particular section of Hadrian`s Wall is awe-inspiring, set as it is by the River Irthing at the bottom of a cliff. The bridge scetion is substantial with a comprehensive information board that is a little worn. With a little imagination it`s easy to get a good feel of how things must have been. It`s only a short walk from Birdoswald Roman Fort.
