It's been a privilege to stay in this beautiful National Trust property. The special little extras, attention to detail and the warm hospitality make this a place to return to. Such a lovely team, who all work so hard to ensure that the high standards complement the unique surroundings. Well done guys . Maureen and Mike

Great little hotel, first rate service, delicious food, good location to explore exmoor.
Small boutique hotel, 4 rooms which really does live up to the ideals of a boutique hotel.
Service was personal and attentive and the cook came up with some vegetarian dishes for my wife.
Allerford a National Trust village.
The hotel owed by the NT but privately run
Enjoyed our stay would return

Room Tip: Only 4 rooms good location in a NT village so I wouldn't worry

We have stayed here previously four years ago and returned for our wedding anniversary
Beautifully presented accomodation in very quaint very old national trust building
Our room was exquisite beautifully styled and very comfy bed
The hosts very welcoming and even provided free drinks for our anniversary
We had our evening meal here service was great nothing to much trouble
The food was good fresh and a fair bit of choice
Overall I would highly recommend this for a couples getaway as it is true luxury in a beautiful part of the country

A lovely place to stay - great attention to detail inside and a lovely part of the countryside outside. Our visit was a short 1 night stay but worth it to discover this gem of a hotel and the delightful hosts. Brekkie was extensive and generous and the room designed with care and an eye for detail. If only other country accomodation was this good

Room Tip: Make sure your bag isn't too large as the stairs to some of the rooms are quaint

We stayed for a weekend and was very impressed with the level of service, from our arrival to find free drinks and snacks in the mini bar to the staff cleaning our car windscreen before our departure. The house itself is a thoughtfully renovated listed National Trust property in a beautiful village with a blacksmith around the corner. Lots of stunningly beautiful walks nearby, and a wonderful meal at the hotel afterward. We felt very spoiled.
