“Best part of our trip to Turkey-wish we had stayed there longer”
Reviewed May 31, 2011

We hiked to the Olive Garden from Faralya and had only made a reservation for one night, planning on moving on the following day. We loved it so much, we ended up staying four days-and this seems to be the case for the majority of people who go there.

The accommodation is simple; wooden cabins that are very, very clean. A seperate toilet with proper working toilet, sink and shower. Comfy beds with mozzy nets, and a small table and chairs. The best thing about the cabins is the view. You wake up to glorious sunshine overlooking Kabak beach and the spurs jutting out all along the coastline.

Fatih (the owner) is a very helpful and genuine host. He has good English and will do everything he can to help you enjoy your stay, providing info on walks etc.

The food is amazing. For breakfast (see photo) there are eggs, cucumber, tomatoes, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, honey, bread etc. served on the terrace overlooking the ocean. For dinner, Fatih cooks for all the guests at one table which may not be some people's cup of tea but we found it really enjoyable. There is no pressure to spend the night chatting to other guests; people can come and go as they please. We stayed in low season so it could be in high season that everyone sits separately; I am not sure. If you are staying there for a number of nights there is no denying that it is a quiet place to be so we enjoyed chatting to other guests with wine over dinner. It was a good way of getting more information about the area too.

There are amazing walks to do; the shortest of which is down to Kabak beach for a swim (although the pool at the Olive Garden is very nice too!). The coastal walk to Butterly Valley is long but well worth it.

In comparison to more 'luxurious' places we stayed which were four times the price, the Olive Garden beat them all. It is unbelievably well priced for the quality, attention and overall experience that you get.

Looking back on our trip to Turkey, our stay with Fatih was definitely the best part and the only problem was that we did not have the time to stay longer! Highly, highly recommended.

“The best kept secret”
Reviewed April 27, 2011

Since returning from the Olive Garden last month I have been torn between wanting to keep it a well kept secret, and being inspired to write a glowing review online - the glowing review has won.
The Olive Garden in Kabak is everything the reviews suggest...the cabins are simple, spotlessly clean, and comfortable, the a cluster of wooden verandas overlook a secluded wooded valley and the bright sea, Fatih and his team are attentive yet unassuming, and the food - the food deserves its own paragraph!
Both breakfast and a three course dinner are included in the price of the cabin. Almost all ingredients are grown and produced in the Olive Garden itself or in the local area. During your stay you will notice the goats, whose milk is used for cheese and yoghurt, nimbly clambering the terraced fields and gardens, and the bees, whose honey you will be given generous portions of at breakfast, buzzing lazily amongst the flowers. Fatih also grows and perserves his own olives and a seemingly inexhaustable supply accompany many a meal. Other culinary highlights of our few days included crisp fried aubergine slices in tahini and yoghurt dressing, whole sea bream baked on the barbeque, and syrup-drenched Turkish milk puddings. Fatih can also provide packed lunches to take with you on your rambles along the Lycian Way or to the perfectly named Paradise Beach.
The Olive Garden deserves to be a roaring success, and with several new cabins, and a small swimming pool on its way, I have every confidence that it will continue to be. If your perfect break includes a tranquil setting, amazing views, and beautiful food, I cannot recommend the Olive Garden too highly.

“Not only a restaurant but everything!”
Reviewed September 12, 2010

"Heaven! I am in heaven!" Me and my wife spent 3 gorgeous nights over Kabak Cove on Fatih's excellent place. We always choose the places we would like to stay considering the chief and the dishes! And this time again we did a good job! Fatih's dishes were really wonderful and so tasty! Wooden huts were really comfortable and we did spend 3 cosy and easy nights! Rooms includes bathroom and toilet inside with excellent hygiene and we can't forget how wonderful the sheet and the pillows smelled! Really can't help recommending this place to everyone who go to Kabak. I do not advise the other camping places below on the cove if you are looking for some sort of tranquility and romantism! It would be really enjoying to take the Lykian Road down to the cove in 15-20 minutes and I shall confess climbing the road was much more easier. And good news! This place will be opn during winter time as well for trekkers and nature-lovers.

“What a family holiday!”
Reviewed August 24, 2010

We found Fatih's place by chance on internet and decided to brave it with 2 kids (9 and 6). We booked for a week.
It was an absolutely fantastic experience all together. We had a lovely family time, weather couldn't be better (first week in June), the hosts were top.
Admittedly we like beach life, so after a healthy nutritious breakfast we would trek down the beach (with left-overs from breakfast in a box for lunch- yes portions are huge), and would just veg on the beach, play with the kids, rest under the shade, swim. Trek down the beach is ~20 minutes, a bit longer to go back but my 6 years old did it with enthusiasm twice every day. Ollie the dog would follow us and guard us before climbing back to the Olive garden. Kids befriended two local kids and after a day at the beach would play together at the hotel.
Food is absolutely gorgeous, well presented, tasty, simple, and big portions.Kids had to be persuaded sometimes but discovered they liked few extra veg!
Eating on the balcony with views on the bay is also unbeatable.
Fatih, Gunesh and Mademoiselle are such good hosts.
We would like to go back next year and do some trekking, check this web site: http://www.walksinturkey.com/. Brian is the resident expert on local walks.

“Am I in Heaven?”
Reviewed August 5, 2010

I cannot rate this place highly enough for the little bungalowed affair that it is. It is sublimely located on a cliff top with magnificent views overlooking one of the top rated beaches in Turkey. The food is of the highest quality and picked freshly for EACH meal from the organic vege garden and cooked by Fatih, an exceptionally talented chef.

The setting is perfection and there are little wooden verandahs overhanging the terraced restaurant area where you can sit and sip to your heart's content. From here there is freely flowing air from all sides. There always seems to be a lovely breeze no matter what time of day it is.

The bungalows have very nice en suites attached and the beds are very comfortable with good mattresses. The bungalows are all new and very well constructed.

Fatih the owner and chef is the most delightful man with adequate English to make you feel very special. His team cannot do enough for you and always have huge smiles on their faces. It is hard to find a more serene place and if you want to chill out then this is the place of all places to do it.

If you enjoy trekking then it is even better as the Lycian Way is on the Olive Garden's doorstep. It is easy to book here for several days or longer and take a different hike for 5 days in a row.

Trekking is best done outside of summer and this year Fatih tells us that he will stay open all year round. If you want pure and simple bliss, then this is my idea of it.
