“already re-booked for October”
Reviewed August 19, 2011

Being a spoilt brat and usually going to 5* all inclusive hotels, this was a big change for me, but I thought I would give it a go. I've got to say I'm really glad I did. OK, so the rooms are very basic and dated, and to be honest need some TLC, but I had a great time and we are even going back for a kid free few days in October.

The pool was big enough for a play about with the kids and for a quiet swim i the morning and the pool area was kept clean and tidy. My only real complaint was that the lift only worked for 4 days out of the 14 and we were on the 4th floor !

The staff are great. especially Harry and Julie - both of who work non-stop (especially Harry!) to keep everyone happy. Harry is a real sweetie - mad as a box of frogs, but lovely never the less. Boris is cute and loves to wander around having a chat, the other one is Danny- who I woud keep your daughter, mother, granddaughter and grandmother away from - a real irritating poser who is more concerned with strutting around oiling himself up, sleazing around available girls and sitting on facebook, than actually doing any work- down right lazy ! Good job there is Harry and Julie or nothing would get done!

As for location, it couldn't really be any better. Just a few minutes walk from Dolphin Square with all the bars, restaurants and beach. The Dolmus stops just at the end of the road to take you to any of the other beaches, Apollos temple and waterpark. There are also some lovely bars and restaurants on the street of the hotel.

We ate in the hotel a few times and it was lovely. There is a BBQ once a week and a Mezze night, both had loads of food and we really enjoyed them. The prices are reasonable too, one night there was a 3 course meal (t-bone steak) for YTL27 (about £10).

There is loads to do in and around Altinkum, lots of trips and tour agencies who organise everything for you. ASEM, love tours and Zaza tours are good. Most of the bars try to have some kind of entertainment to keep you there - dancing boys and girls, quizzes, kareoke - you know the sort of stuff.

All in all the Atlantik gave us a holiday that was fun, relaxing and where we met some great new freinds. I will definately be returning. Just remember- you are paying between £4 and £10 a night pp for the hotel - don't expect the Ritz, expect a basic, clean, friendly little hotel and you wont be dissapointed!

Went to Altinkum and stayed at Atlantik Apartments, was a bit concerned after reading the previous reviews, but i had nothing at all to worry about. Julie, Boris,Danny (his cocktails are the best), Ronaldo, the receptionist and the cleaner were all lovely and very helpful. Harry is just the most fantastic funny person you will ever meet, he never stops smiling and is on the go morning , noon and night.

The rooms are a good size and are adequate for basic needs, which is all we wanted.
The lift broke down a few times but it was no big deal.

BBQ Nights are great, good food and lots of it, Harry done a great job with the cooking.

The pool was lovely and cleaned every night. had a hard time trying to get my 2 nephews out of it.

Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would definatley stay at Atlantik Apartments again.

Ambience Restaurant across the road from Atlantik Apartments is great, all the boys that work there and Jack are really friendly.

Me and my family of 9 stayed here in july and really enjoyed the holiday. As said in previous comments you pay for what you get , ok there was a few problems but nothing major and the staff soon sorted out the problems as soon as they could and were very apolagetic in the process. Me and the girlfriend stayed in the apartment over looking the pool, and yes some nights the music was to loud to sleep but you are on holiday and they always turned down the music if you asked. We really enjoyed this holiday and had a fantastic time and would come back anytime , the only problem with the hotel is there is not enough shaded area around the pool but borris promises to get more brollies.

Had a great time and so will you

My family stayed at Atlantik for 2 weeks and we returned home last night.
Rooms very nice, clean and bright.
Kitchen suitable for a self catering holiday as we tend to eat out in the many cheap bars etc very nearby.
Bathroom, Shower toilet and a sink, what more do you need? plenty big enough.
Lift, had few problems but nothing to write about.
Pool, Cleaned every night and chemicals added.
Bar, Good service, music playing in the day and evening and if you wanted any type of music Danny would play it for you.
Food, Very nice, we never ate there much but when we did we were more than happy and the Bar-B-Q evenings were superb.
Drinks, Same prices as everywhere else.
Staff, Second to none would do anything for you and unlike a lot of places we have been they are happy to help you, going way beyond the call of duty.
Location, Perfect for everything, Beach, shops, bars/cafes. Busses.
In all there were 12 of us and we had a really nice time made all the better by the staff, from Boris to the cleaner they were all superb.

Room Tip: The best rooms are at the front of the apartments,

The apartments were basic, but clean, as you would expect for such a cheap holiday in Turkey. the heat required us to purchase the air conditioning, at £5 a night, not to bad considering the difference it made to the holiday, and slightly cheaper than we have experienced in previous holidays. The rooms were cleaned regularly by a very friendly cleaner. The owner took a bit of a back seat, but was always very friendly when we met him. The bar was well stocked and the service was impeccable.

What some people dont seem to realise is that Turkey is not Great Britain. The staff work 14+ hours a day, 7 days a week. yes they go on facebook etc. but they always stop what they are doing to serve you. They have a different way of life out there, If you want the staff to work like Brits, go on holiday to Cornwall or something.

On one of the days of our stay, the water system broke down. They were extremely apologetic and called the plumber out instantly who preceded to fix the problem. It was a massive job which was extremely expensive, but was remedied in speed. Other than that there were few problems.

This was the fourth year the family have been to Turkey and the second time we have travelled to Altinkum.

The staff at the apartments were absolutely wonderful. Having been there at the time of the last review, I know of the problems the previous re a scrap with his brother, but it wasn't loud.

I'll be honest, the people doing that review sound like a bunch of winy Brits who expect five star treatment at what is a 3 star apartment block. The road is not busy and is most defiantly not loud at night,

The staff do their best to keep everyone happy. they play music during the day, yes. Its a bloody pool, all the pools in turkey play music. they turn the volume up or down as the customers ask for it.

All of the staff were amazingly friendly. Danny, Ronaldo and especially Harry do their utmost to make everyone feel welcome, happy and at ease. If you want peace and quiet go to a different area.

The people there are some of the best I have ever had the pleasure to spend my holiday with, and my family agree.

If you want a cheap holiday with friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at ease, and try their best to make everyone happy, I would advise this apartment block.

It was a pleasure to stay there and I hope to return next year.

we stayed here in july 2011 and was shocked with the managment and the up keep of the hotel. Cleaning was not brilliant and the towels we were given for our bathroom looked like peoples towels that had been left ! The pool does not filter, water is always looking dirty, you have to tell the staff or they will not clean it. If you dont like loud rave music playing till 4 oclock in the mornin at the hotel bar then dont go here. We didnt get much sleep because of this. There is no chance of an afternoon kip because the music goes even louder when they are cleaning the bar area. The hotel is on a main road, traffic is very busy and noisy. Our experience on the 2nd night was being woken up at 4:30am by borris the manager being so drunk he was fighting with his brother (who works in the hotel) and was smashing the reception area up. The only nice person at this hotel is the hired hand. They tried to charge us 10lira for a 3 minute phone call which was usually 50cents, we didnt pay it which later caused a rift when Borris got aggressive with our children and tried to push them down the stairs, we comfrunted him about this and then he tried to throw us out the hotel. I strongly recomend you do not go here!!!!
