Incredible food, impeccable service and all in a lovely setting. I visited for morning tea and was so impressed that I returned for dinner twice in the week I spent in Mangawhai. The food has very authentically French flavours and for anyone who has heard of it before - they serve Orangina (a type of sparking orange juice)!! I tried the skirt steak and the vegetarian platter and recommend both. The most exceptional part of the menu, though, was the desserts - chocolate crepes, profiteroles, berry surprise, chocolate fondant, apple , all were fabulous.
The servers took our orders and cleared the plates promptly, and were happy to recommend their favourite dishes on the menu. There is a sweet little story - written in both French and English - on the walls, that tells the story of how the Frog and Kiwi came to be. Overall, very impressed and would happily recommend to anyone visiting the area.
