Kamerkloof Guest Farm
Certificate of Excellence

Once you entered the Baviaanskloof, you don’t want to exit. Kamerkloof is a tranquil olive farm situated in the heart of the magical Baviaanskloof.
The stoep of the guest house outlooks the scenic mountains surrounding the farm. The olive trees provide a distinct character to the farm with the back drop of the Kloof providing scenic beauty.
Every day you can take a different hiking trail, walk in the astonishing ‘kloof’, swim in natural rock pools all along the trails, mountain biking, 4x4 trails, bushman’s paintings, explore diverse and interesting fauna and flora, visit Sun Downer’s koppie, seven fountains hiking trail (natural fountains) and the wild fig tree forest, inhale the fresh air and experience the unspoiled nature, absolute silence and beauty.
We try to visit Kamerkloof at least once a year. (When you are away from Kamerkloof you long to go back as soon as possible!). The historically renovated guesthouse (including the dormitory and camping facilities) is very well maintained with a beautiful garden and a natural swimming reservoir with a wooden deck. It is clean, neat and has a cosy welcoming atmosphere. Nick and his team are excellent hosts.
The memories of sitting around the big fire circle, fairylike stargazing and moon walks are engraved in my heart.
A holiday at Kamerkloof is just what you need to relax, revive your soul and enjoy the wonders of the earth. Definitely a place to visit.

My fiance and I decided to take a weekend drive up to Baviaankloof from Plettenberg Bay in January. We stayed at Kamerkloof and were lucky that we had the entire guest house to ourselves. The rooms were comfortable and bathroom was luxurious. The outside porch had some nice comfy chairs with a view of the Kloof and the olive groves. When it got too hot in the sun there was a nice reservoir to take a dip in. In the evening we had a nice braai (BBQ) with Nick in the main house. The next day we drove through the nature reserve which is approx 60km with our 4x4, it took us about 5hrs including stops for lunch and just to enjoy the most beautiful scenery. A 4x4 is recommended, especially in rainy season however we did see people attempting in normal sedans.

Overall, definitely worth a visit for nature lovers, 4x4 enthusiasts, hikers, photographers and anyone wanting to escape the rush.

Nick is a great guy, very easy to get along with and so knowledgeable and passionate. He took a lot of time to show us around the property, hike, braai, etc.
Loved my time at Kamerkloof, a beautiful and tranquil property. Would definitely return one day and recommend to all my friends!

I would love to go back! Friendly host Nick, clean and very relaxed place. It is really nice to drive around, super stunning Nature! I had lots of fun to go around in the car and have braai in the evening. I would love to go back to have hikes and mountainbike trips too..but I was running out of time..

Hi,
I discovered Kamerkloof during my school internship, in June 2011. Passionnated by agriculture, I was so glad to meet Nick, who has a wonderful talent to tell the story of his farm and how he is constantly improving his agricultural practices. The house is never empty, and you can choose between staying in your room to have some rest, or go out and talk with other guests or people visiting Nick. The products (olive, wine, meat) are so good (especially for a French woman). The only regret I have is that... I want to come back to experience Nick enthusiasm again, but I've 12000 km to travel! Dankie Nick!

Kamerkloof is a beautiful farm in the Baviaanskloof and the perfect place to enjoy the majesty and mystery of the mountains and the valley.
I've visited multiple times and am in love with the views and hikes and sense of space.
Nick is an excellent host with great enthusiasm for the area and the farm, which produces the most delicious olives and olive oil. He can point you toward many great hikes and rambles and special spots to visit in the area so if you can, you'll want to spend multiple days to take it all in! The accommodation at Kamerkloof is very comfortable and spacious and makes me feel at home.

It's hard not to feel at home when staying at Kamerkloof Guest Farm. Not only are your accommodations as comfy as can be but with Nick as your host, you're bond to feel welcomed and at home among the mountains and olive groves. It's a great place to rest and unwind after a day of exploring the beautiful Baviaanskloof. Kamerkloof is a true example of South African hospitality at it's best... friendly, welcoming, comfortable and accommodating.
