We spent 2 nights over New Year at the lodge on our "Route 62" trip, and it is just as advertised and seen in the photos. The rooms are amazing with beautiful views over the gorge, the bed is fabulous, huge & comfortable. The the bath set at the window gives you a fantastic view out over the gorge. It was luxurious, beautiful, quiet & we felt very spoilt. The food prepared by chef Herman and his staff is truly wonderful and you can tell he loves what he does & takes great pleasure in producing interesting & tasty dishes.
We had our 2nd dinner under the rock overhang down at the river, which was a very special treat and what a wonderful setting. Pieter the manager is fantastic, very friendly & knowledgeable about the area & what there is to do.
Overall a fabulous experience and a real treat in Baviaans, definitely the place to stay for luxury & quiet solitude.

Sederkloof Lodge is exactly what we expected. Thys and Alice are wonderful hosts, the setting is spectacular, the food delicious and the rooms beautifully appointed with great linen and breathtaking views. Stay longer than 2 nights because there is so much to do and it takes a while to unwind and get used to the solitude and the rhythm of the location. Just experiencing the night sky is worth the trip. I have never seen so many stars! It is worth every cent for the wonderful privilege to share this beautiful place with such gracious hosts.

Getting to the Baviaanskloof is not easy, but it is worth any effort because once you get there you are met with amazing hospitality, great food, immaulate and romantic rooms and the most beautiful scenery.
Thys, Alice, the guides and chef treat you like royalty. We went on a few excursions and would have loved to stay longer so that we could do more. I highly recommends his lodge.
If the price tag puts you off though, go stay in the new luxury, self catering tented camp.

We spent two nights at Sederkloof lodge and it was wonderful. Alice, Thys and staff are fantastic and we had the most memorable New Years Eve dinner. The chalets have the most spectacular views into a gorge and waking up to the sounds of nature (baboons, birds) and seeing kudu form your bed is magical. There are various interesting things to do in the area - many hikes, 4x4 excursions, a visit to a fig forest and artisanal well to name just a few. We loved our stay at Sederkloof and will be back. This is a very special place.
