We saw that place back in 2009 on Channel 4 and my wife being pregnant at the time we thought we should go there one day. 4 years on, we went to Tuscany in October and stayed for a few days at the farm.

The stay was exceptional! I had high expectations and they were all easily met by the hosts!

- Our 8 months old had homemade food prepared for him every single night. He truly enjoyed it and could not stop eating.
- Our 4 year old daughter also enjoyed the food but she had even more fun feeding the animals! (sheep, horse, chickens, handling rabbits and guinea pigs)
- We (adults) loved the food, wine (organic chianti made on the farm) and the care the family took to host us for a few days.

The only thing we regret is that we didn't stay long enough. It is close enough from Florence and Pisa (45mn roughly for both) and it is therefore possible to go to those cities on a day trip.

The room we had was quite rustic but we found it refreshing. We wanted a complete switch off from our daily routine and it achieved just that.

Price wise, I initially found the price slightly steep. After the stay, I can only say that it is actually really affordable. Considering the quality of the food and the quietness of the tuscany country side, I find much more affordable and enjoyable than staying inside Florence for example.

As a final note:

- Did we like it: Yes
- Will we go back: Certainly and for longer this time
- Do we recommend it? YES!

We found this place on the recommendation of a friend with children and were not disappointed. We were 3 generations and all found something to enjoy. It was so easy to spend time on the farm looking at the animals (especially Molly the pig!), playing in the pool or on the swings. The adults really enjoyed eating Angela's amazing food and drinking the vinyard's wine at outside tables every night while the children went on their own adventures around the site. The pizza making was a highlight. It was easy to get to a range of hill towns from the farm within an hour's drive. We particuarly liked Lucca too. The accomodation was pretty basic, but meant we didn't have to worry about anything getting damaged. It would be difficult to self-cater in the apartments, but you wouldn't want to miss out on Angela's cooking anyway! Jacopo was on hand to answer questions in English and all the family were very helpful. We will be back!

My family including 4 kids stayed there for 3 days in this summer.
Awesome stay with fresh air, beautiful flat, wonderful pool, nice hosts,
cute animals.
Especially we love dinner!
My kids played outside all day and tried making Pizza, farm exploring,
pool... they didn't leave there when check-out.
I would love to stay again, highly recommended!

We got married in Italy in July 2011 and decided to explore Tuscany for our honeymoon. I must say Le Baccane was the best choice we could have made! We were not looking for a 5 star spa retreat, rather for a piece of real, rural Tuscany away from the masses and we definitely found it at Le Baccane. Angela and her family made us feel very welcome from the word go. It's a very friendly family business and Angela cooks lots of truly mouth watering Tuscan specialities including the famous Tagliata steak (yum)! We stayed for a week of half board for the very competitive price of EUR 50 per day (what would you get in the UK for that price?) and that included breakfast and a three course evening meal served 'al fresco' and washed down with bottles of their own delicious organic wine + the hire of really good quality mountain bikes. We alternated bike trips to neighbouring villages and train journey to the main cities and managed to visit Florence, Lucca, Pisa and the thermal baths of Monsummano Terme. We also enjoyed some chill out time by the lovely outdoor pool. Angela's son very kindly gave us a lifts to the train station and picked us up whenever we were struggling with public transport. We were lucky to have a week of scorching sun and had a fantastic time. We are really hoping to go back soon with our son ;)

This is a great place to stay in north Tuscany. Le baccane is only forty minutes drive from pisa airport and really easy to get to. We were given a warm welcome by the hosts and opted for dinner and breakfast. Dinner was lovely with local produce and free chianti wine to die for! Farm was really interesting and the grounds were well kept. Only eight km from Vinci where new leonardo museum is so perfect as a base for exploration.
This is a place we will definitely return to next year and I genuinely felt sad to leave. Very peaceful and homely.
