“Local drinkers pub”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

We were advised to visit the Green Dragon via our cottage 'welcome pack'. We don't know why this pub is on the list as a family friendly pub.

This is a drinkers pub and a local drinkers pub at that. The dog at the bar, the swearing regulars, the inaccessible garden (you have to go out and walk around to get in the garden) and the lack of parking all slowly devalue the experience. The pub has no high chairs, does not serve food before 6pm and only has a couple of printed menu's so they have to be asked for.

The food was good when it arrived. The fish was very fresh and the sausages delicious. However, as a family with young children the overall negatives outweighed the positives.

An odd, quaint (?), nice pub to sit in with your mates for a pint. Don't take your family even if there is a big climbing frame at the back.

“The Dragon is owned by one!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

Unfortunately the service at the bar does not reflect the quality of the food which leaves you with a really poor taste is your mouth! I was ignored in preference for 'locals' and in the end sunk to her level and each time the bar person approached me I turned away - this was after 20 minutes of her ignoring me. The food was good but due to the service I would never go there again.

“In need of a an overhaul!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2013

Recently visited the Green Dragon and the place needs a jolly good clean, it has a really unpleasant musty odour. Very off putting, otherwise an ok place for a drink. The outdoor seating area was weedy and overgrown, a great shame as visited a few years back and it has sadly gone downhill.

“Want to keep this to myself”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2013 via mobile

Perfect pub. First and foremost this is a local pub. He local folk, luckily enough to live here sit next to the bar with mans best friend. This is by far in my eyes the ultimate pub. Imagine your car breaking down on a stormy night, you find a cosy pub, the locals pay little attention to you but the food and drink and atmosphere hit the spot, it has a classic old world pub feel but without the tourist feel. The gents is in the yard ( v clean etc ) if I could bottle this pub I would ! Please don't go as its great as it is. I would love to call it my local ;)
