Stayed here for 7 nights last week, great room, fab house keeping always smiling, lovely beach and snorkelling, food excellent, service poor and staff not quite as happy as house keeping !!! , waited 40 mins for a tuna steak, the tuna was amazing,(must have fab chefs) when it finally arrived it's a shame as it was like that the whole week and it really let's the place down. Room was a very good size , maybe a little tired in areas but not enough to worry about. Fab new pool , looks great. ATM out of order all week , bit of a pain and the cashier didn't give cash out...seemed odd as my partner needed to go to the hospital for an injury, and the taxi was going to be $40 or we could have the emergency DR out who charged $200 and we needed to withdraw cash to pay for either option, the resort doesn't have an option of a car loan for situations like this so we ended up using our free one day car hire to get him to the hospital ( it's a good job we had that tho as that was a life saver). He also needed to be at the hospital for daily pain relief injections for the next three days, so it would have been nice if reception could have charged the taxi to our room account or had the facility to organise transport in situations like this, I do understand that it's quite a unique situation and not sure if they could put in place some procedures to cover things like this as it was frustrating for me being worried about my partner who was in pain and staff at reception could have been a bit more helpful, just seemed a little disinterested !! So mixed feelings really, as yes we got a car to get him to the hospital, and yes the young man at reception was very pleasant when booking the car !
Back to house keeping , legendary !!! Never once dropped their standards even when having to clean up the dressings from my partners injury, never complained , always smiling, nothing too much trouble ( Andrea your brilliant ).
Kids loved the snorkelling, SUP and kayaking and had plenty to do, the pool area and activities board kept them busy and entertained, they had a great time!
We were in room 101 great location handy to everything, beds really comfortable..... So long story short, we had a unique experience, in general it's a great place to stay. :)

We recently stayed here for a friends wedding. The setting was stunning, great sunsets, amazing beach with lots of watersports (better than Muri I thought). The rooms, setting etc were a bit tired, though perfectly adequate when you don't spend too much time in your room! Comfy beds too!

Popped in here to have a Sangria - something on our "must do" list every time we go to Rarotonga. Stood at the bar being totally ignored for about 10 minutes - despite the fact that there were four staff were behind the bar at various times during the 10 minutes - far more effort was put into personal conversations amongst the staff. Then finally some attention with a greeting of "you right there". I was ready to leave however the anticipation of enjoying the Sangria kept me there - I shouldn't have bothered, they have changed their recipe (I suspect they are using cheap products) and it just didn't taste as good. Won't be going back and won't be recommending to anyone else.

We had our wedding at the Rarotongan beach resort and spa on the 10th February 2014 and till this day we still wish we could do it all over again as we had such a great time, it was like a perfect dream! The resort, the honeymoon suite, the ceremony and the reception were breathtaking. The staff and most important our wedding planner Victor Edwards did a fantastic job, with their friendly service and always wanting to go above and beyond. Not only did our guests say what a beautiful wedding but even guests at the hotel made a compliment on how great the set up was. We would recommend the Rarotongan Beach Resort as the number 1 hotel to stay at in Rarotonga and also the number 1 hotel to have your wedding at!

Not the greatest place to stay. The rooms are run down, the service is appalling. The activities get canceled. Food and drink is over priced.
On the positives it is on a great beach and there is a nice adults swimming pool

I stayed in this resort 8 years ago also and it was run down then so you can imagine what 8 years has done to it.
It would be a fantastic place if someone breathed new life into and got staff who actually wanted to work

Stayed: October 2013
