“Great hotel”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

We stayed one night here recently and could not fault it. Though not cheap, for the location on the square in Kew, it provided us a slice of idyllic England which we relished. Secure parking, great food, little garden out the back with hens which our daughter enjoyed seeing, nice clean hotel room and tasty breakfast, all within beautiful surroundings.

Looking for a lovely, quaint, local hotel? Check out The Coach and Horses in Kew. Lovely room that felt just like home. Complete with a rubber duck for the bathtub and a lovely tray of tea and biscuits. The pub is pleasant and cozy and the food is great. Check out the daily chefs special pie. Just a few blocks from Kew gardens which is a lovely place to visit. But the best part of the whole stay was the wonderful staff. So helpful. So friendly. They make you feel so at home. I will definitely return!!!

Room Tip: I was in a quad of rooms on the 2nd floor that is up a rather steep flight of 5 or 6 stairs. It was...

I flew in from the States and couldn't have been more please with the location, room, service, and rocking breakfast the following morning. I definitely recommend it to anyone and will be back. I enjoy London, but Kew is lovely and the train into London is worth the short trip to stay at The Coach and Horses (and its much cheaper too :-)

Room Tip: My room was on the second floor right above the main entrance and it was lovely :-)

The Coach and Horses in Kew was our first stop on a two week tour of England.
It was the perfect place to rest and get over jet lag from the states.
The proximity to Kew Gardens, Kew and Richmond could not have been better.
The staff manning the front desk were helpful every time.
The buffett style breakfasts were very tasty in a beautiful dining room.

Good value for London. Perfectly sited if planning to visit Kew Gardens which needs at least a full day to do it justice. Kew as a place is pleasantly upmarket, and the tube is 10 minutes walk away for links to central London.

Stayed at the Coach and Horses as part of a group visiting Kew Gardens. Pleasant stay, good atmosphere, staff are well trained, enthusiastic and bright. Room was comfortable, good value, overlooking Kew Green.

Only criticism would be our group evening meal was OK, but the portions were just too small. Breakfast was better.

Room Tip: Try for a traditional room overlooking Kew Green.

Just returned from an overnighter at this great place. My husband booked it on recommendation from friends who really rated it as a perfect location from which to visit Kew. They were right ! It has a buzzy bar serving excellent beer and food, featuring a good contingent of locals. The staff are friendly and helpful and all seem like they really want to be there. Without exception we were made to feel that they really cared that we had a great time. The bedroom was well appointed with a stylish wool cable throw on the bed I would have liked to take home with me ! classy toiletries and pristine sheets added to the experience. The breakfast menu covers every eventuality, which really set us up for a day at Kew.. All in all a really great place to stay. The only point that I would make to be aware of is the price of wine by the glass, Large glass of NZ sauvignon almost £9.00 !! This does not take anything away from the rest of the visit, we loved it.
