“"An Oasis in the City"”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

When you walk into Kew Gardens the peaceful surroundings engulf you immediately. There is so much to see and do, one day is not enough. I live near enough to visit regularly and see something to admire every time I go.I used to go with my parents, now I take my children and grand children, it's a bit of a family tradition now! The young children can enjoy the indoor play centre and the older ones can go in the adventure playground outside. Would recommend the bus within the gardens to get a glimpse of everything there. You don't have to love plants to visit

“A nice place to visit”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

We are quite lucky as we live very close to Kew Gardens and it is a regular place to visit for us even maybe just for an hour or so and its a great place to un-wind, we must add that we have bought a yearly pass at a cost of £95- as if we had not this pass then no way could/would we make so many visits to this place as we think that the admission price is quite steep plus of course the car paking fee of £ 6-50p so it could work out quite an expencive day. its not just a place for tree's/flowers as there and many different little critters there and if you look carfully in the greenhouses you could be surprised at what you can see and watch out for the Golden Pheasants/Peacocks in the grounds as they are so tame that they will take food from your hands there is also a beautiful lake there with plenty of seating around it and a great place to sit and watch the water birds and the large fish, this lake is a bit out of the way so it could easly be missed, will end by saying its a great place for a different day out and i nearly forgot there are plenty of eating houses there !

“Stunning gardens”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Visited a snow covered Kew Gardens, it was stunning. Entrance price is expensive at £16 especially during the winter months when there is a limit to what can be seen. The greenhouses are excellent and a couple of them you could walk around on a roof walk. The treetops walk was closed but this was not mentioned at the entrance. Would like to go back during the spring or summer to see the grounds in full colour.

“Good day out”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

Like many others posting reviews here recently I visited with some friends on New Year's day as part of the free 12 days of christmas promotion.

We spent a good few hours wondering around on what was remarkably a nice day. Considering it was winter there was plenty to see, although most of it in the glasshouses. Lots of nice areas to walk around outside though and I really like the treetops walk which we did just as the sun was setting.

We had a snack and a drink in one of the cafes, I had a fairly expensive (as expected) but a tasty bit of Bakewell tart all the same.

Don't miss the aquarium in the basement of the Palm House and the orchids at the far end of the Princess of Wales Conservatory. The Pagoda is worth a look if the weather is good too.

Also worth a mention is the iPhone app, includes details of which plants are in flower and where to find them as well as a good map of the whole place.
