Pros: located on a nice stretch of private beach, every buffet meal abundant and delicious, evening show was spectacular (fire dance, traditional dance etc.), rooms quite OK and upper floor views very nice. Pool and pool bar also very nice.

Cons: taxi/shuttle or hotel car needed to go anywhere. Hotel car way overpriced. Check in/out nothing special. Beach BBQ restaurant also overpriced, food just OK.

Overall: if they did not gouge on in-house food (room service was actually well priced and yummy) and transport I would give it a 5 star. More upmarket crowd than Bali Dynasty, more relaxing. A little out of the way but we have done the Kuta thing and this was nice change of pace.

Room Tip: top floor for ocean view rooms a must

The meat and seafood served in Jukung Grill are the fresh ones which meet our health and hygiene standard. That is why outside meat and seafood restaurant might be cheaper than us.

Our hotel offers spacious family car, personalized service, and security guarantee. Outside taxi might be cheaper than us, but they do not really pay attention to the details I mentioned above. Rest assured that we always put our guests’ satisfaction at the utmost priority.

Just got back from a 12 night stay at The Grand Mirage in Bali. 27/08/2013 .... Having travelled to many resorts around the world I would struggle to find fault with the grand mirage. We went for our 10 year wedding anniversary and were very we'll looked after. Food at the Junking restaurant was 10/10 .. BIG thankyou to Belly for looking after us ... we had 2 joining rooms for my wife and I and the mother in law and our daughter which was perfect, Clean tidy and of a good size. My mother in law had 9 Tenderloin steaks in our stay at 3 different restaurants on site and described them as 'amazing' everytime !!!( she is very fusy with steaks !!) Between the 4 of us we worked our way through the Junking menu ! I could go on and about the awesome food ... enough said.

We meet many fantastic people from lots of different countries and our 8 year old now has pen pals all over the world .. Beer good, water sports good, Spa amazing, food fantastic.

As you probably tell we had a great time !!!

Would we go back ?? YES YES and YES

Room Tip: We had 4462 which was a sea view .... but only just !! We didn't go to Bali to sit in our room .

This was our first family trip to Bali and stayed at Grand Mirage. Our intention was to relax and enjoy the trip. This hotel and its staff provided everything we looked for. In every aspect the hotel reflected the 5 star quality. Every staff member whether at the reception or at the restaurants, was courteous and helpful. The room we slected had a nice ocean view with the bacony, where we relaxed and enjoyed the view. Food also had the variety and enjoyable. Overall we enjoyed our stay and if we go back to Bali, we will look for staying at Grand Mirage again.

Firstly, lets not get the Grand Mirage and the Club Mirage mixed up when writing a review. They are two separate hotels next to each other. One looks far better than the other (the Grand) and the other is not as impressive.

We had a truly lovely meet and greet when we arrived at the hotel. Cool towels and a drink in their VIP room. Everything was clearly explained and our request for a kingsize room high up was granted. It was a lovely room overlooking the gardens and as most of the entertainment is at the other side of the hotel, we felt it was much quieter.

We loved the restaurants. The a la carte Jukung, the grand Mirage Cafe (either buffet or a la carte), the Cascata Italian a la carte (which we used three times) and the Chopsticks set menu restaurant which is located upstairs at the sister hotel The Club Mirage and I have to say the decor and furniture of the. chopsticks restaurant puts the rest of the place in the shade. You can also go to the Rama Stage for buffet and different types of entertainment each night. We tried quite a few of these - Aussie Night, Latino night, Balinese night, and enjoyed them. The entertainment was pretty good.

As for the watersports. Well I'm nearly 50 and I don't normally do them but this time had so much fun on the jet skies, banana boat, speed boat and the sea walking (the fishes you see are amazing) so this helped make me feel 21 and added to a truly amazing holiday. These were given to us as tickets on the all inclusive package.

We also went to the Devdan show which is pretty professionally and the stage as big as any London West End stage. With fire, pouring water, acrobats hanging from ribbons it was a lovely show. These tickets were also in our AI package.

I cannot fault any staff member at this hotel. Truly impeccable service and always with a smile. The bed was so cozy, the bathroom towels were chanced in the morning and again in the evening before we came back for the evening to sleep and the free room service was exceptional - don't order too much!!

I could go on for ages but a lot as been covered in previous reviews. The beach does have a bit of seaweed swept in but it's raked up by the staff and the sand is clean and golden, the whole place is kept immaculately clean, including the pools and gardens and we couldn't get over the amount of space for the sun beds - you are not on top of each other.

I've travelled to many countries and this is one if the best hotels we've stayed in. A special thank you to Ema and also Agor (the drinks girl on the beach) for special service.

We also booked a local guide from the uk (Bali Kadek) who was recommended on this site and had two full days touring Central and East Bali, seeing some lovely.

Highly recommended and I just cannot understand anyone who gives this place low s owing - get real!!

I've 'investigated' a word by word, review after a review this resort and was very skeptic about what I'm going to see when we reach Bali.
'Outdated', 'not a 5*' 'rooms with wird smell' and similar comments were mentioned a few times here.
Do you remember that cute little fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen about a princess who couldn't sleep all night 'cause of a pea beneath her mattress?
If you don't, long story short, some people will whine and complain even if you give them the best!
We had the best time ever there.
We booked a deluxe double garden view and were given a ground floor room facing the ocean! Every morning the first this we saw when we opened our eyes was a beautiful garden with endless blue ocean in the background.
Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed was cozy, linen was clean, bathroom had a shower and a tub. Big TV that we NEVER turned on! (That's a proper holiday, I guess!) Twice a day towel and complementary water bottles were changed/replanished. Every room had a balcony with beautiful dark pink flower fence. Felt so tropical! Was a bit hard to catch wi/fi in our room but it gives you a good kick in the head that you are in Bali(!!!) and internet is a waste of time! Btw, You can have a great signal all over the beach and the lobby area.
We had breakfast included and were quite ok with it. Fresh fruit, juices, as-you-like-it omelette, continental, English, American and Asian breakfast was available. It is a huge resort with guests from all over the world and they made it very clear they want to keep everyone fed! :D The restaurant is an open type and overlooks the pool area with the beach in the background. Gets very busy around 9am but we never had difficulties finding a table right next to the pool and stare at the ocean.
Never stayed for lunch or dinner so I can't comment, but in front of the hotel is a street full of restaurants with live music and we tried out a different one every night. (Also a much cheaper version than the hotel).
One day we took a loooong walk down the beach Nusa Dua to see how other hotels look like and we were thrilled we booked this one. (Conrad hotel was our 2'nd choice and it looked so cold and was lacking that tropical touch.) By far, Grand Mirage was the biggest resort there and not to mention the most charming one.
We checked out at noon and left our things at the reception area for few more hours and were pleased by the hospitality received even after signing out).
All in all, this was a great, peacefull vacation in a beautiful resort full of flowers and palms. Everything about it was just awsome and I still can't believe we were there. Book it! You will not regret it.

The hotel is very old. The room needs to be upgraded. The furniture is old and some of the drawer is not working. Have a very hard time operating the in room safe. The mini bar was not working even though we have complaint multiple times. Wifi is slow. If you need better speed, u need to pay.

Breakfast was great. The pool was great.

Not a new hotel but it is in a good condition. The beach is nice and there is always deck chair for latecomers. It doesn't worth to pay for all inclusive, better going out to any restaurant in the area. Bars and restaurants are extremely expensive. I didn't like that we could check in only after 2 p.m. so we had to wait on a bench for more than 3.5 hours but except this, stuff was polite and helpful. Actually, we did not have too much business with the hotel, but spent the whole day outside of the hotel. There are so many sights to see and things to do, prepare to stay here for more than a week! Don't miss out ocean and jungle rafting.

Room Tip: Better to chose a room with ocean view but it has a surcharge. They usually sell all the ocen view r...
