We really enjoyed our stay at hotel Nikko.
Check in to the hotel was quite smooth. The porters weren’t around, so we took the luggage to our rooms on our own. Our rooms weren’t far from the reception, so it wasn’t an issue for us. Hotel has ramps and lifts.
The staff were always courteous and very friendly. We locked ourselves few times and the receptionists were very quick to provide us temporary replacement keys.
The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. The twin bed set up is quite big and family of 4 can easily sleep in it!
Our rooms were cleaned and toiletries stocked daily. 2 water bottles were provided every day.
Our room had a connecting door to the next room, which was securely closed. But we could hear noises from that room. Best to check when making the booking.
We loved the pool. It’s quite big and with varying depth, seats and shade. Kids spent ages in the pool. During our stay, the pool bar was closed due to maintenance. Only negative on the pool is that there are loose tiles.
Our package included buffet breakfast, which was a delight. There were subtle daily changes in the menu. There was quite a spread, including egg, noodle and waffle / pancake stations.
There are few shops, Spas, restaurants, money changers, taxi / tour bookings and laundry facilities right outside the hotel. Except for breakfast, we didn’t dine from the hotel.
We tried different restaurants each day. They weren’t crowded and there is quite a variety of cuisines. They were very accommodative of our kids.
Other than super market / grocery items, the shops sell souvenirs, cloths, bags, etc. The souvenirs are cheaper than those sold at/ outside tourist attractions.
We visited the Spas everyday and can highly recommend Carla Spa. We changed money twice and the rate was same as what we got in Kuta.
Hotel provides free daily shuttle to a shopping centre in Kuta, which is about 30 minutes away. We used this service once. The shuttle was prompt and comfortable. You have to make the booking the day-before.
We didn’t book any tours from the hotel.
We didn’t use the hotel airport transfer. When my father in laws pre-booked taxi from outside, they didn’t turn up, the hotel security arranged for another taxi within few minutes, which was a big relief.
For us, we hired a driver who has a stand close by. The airport ride cost us 150K, which is more than half of the hotel’s airport transfer charge.
There are mosquitos in the hotel during the evening. So remember to take mosquito repellent. The hotel carried out some treatments in the hotel gardens at 6pm on couple of days during our stay and they informed us beforehand.
